  There was a lady with short blonde hair who may have been a manager. We visited around 4:00–4:30 PM with our dogs, and she was extremely unwilling to help us. We asked her about medication that our dog needed to take, but instead of addressing our concerns, she immediately told us that they do not issue refunds for medication purchased back in February. However, we never asked for a refund. We simply wanted to know how we could help our fur baby, but she offered no guidance, advice, or alternative solutions. What made the experience even more frustrating was that she refused to make eye contact with me and directed all her attention toward my friend, even after my friend clearly explained that ownership of the dog was being transferred to me. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. We came in seeking help and guidance for our dog’s well-being, but instead, we were met with dismissive and unhelpful customer service.

  If I could give ZERO stars I would. Called Tuesday to make an appointment for my dog. They made appointment for Thursday. We show up to find a sign that says they are closed due to doctor illness, which is fine, but THEY DIDNT CALL US TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE? No email to say they were closing, nothing. Thankfully the gurnee location is much more professional or I would’ve cancelled our banfield plans immediately. Thanks to the gurnee office for squeezing us into their very busy day last minute. It’s unfortunate that the Vernon hills banfield is so poorly managed.

  Do NOT bring your loving animals at this location!!! Warning they try to scam you out of more money by telling you in an indirect way that if you don’t get a certain test, x-ray, or blood test for your fur baby; they could possibly die or suffer. I took my baby to another Veterinary to double check her and she was 100% healthy!! All her tests came clean. The other veterinary had explained to me that some animal hospitals WILL try to pressure you into paying for unnecessary exams on your pet for more revenue. This banfield location also does not respect the times appointment are made. You can have an 8am appointment, and they’ll check you in 30 minutes or an hour after your appointment. Oh, but if YOUR 1 min late they cancel your appointment. They also told a family member of mine that they couldn’t spay her cat because one of his organs wasn’t doing good. So they will have to wait, but when she came to get him, they immediately told her he was going to die. How did they not catch the organ problem BEFORE his surgery when they were doing his exams on him. How do you manage to miss that until the day of the surgery!! Yet they still charged her hundreds of dollars for doing absolutely nothing! They didn’t bother to find solutions at all or try to give the kitten SOMETHING. “Well, he’s going to die anyway” is exactly what they said to her. Shame on you people! No empathy, compassion, and no respect for others.

  This location is understaffed! It seems that no matter what time you call in, you are either put on hold for lengthy periods of time or you have to leave a voicemail that doesn’t get returned. I cannot blame the customer service team as they are very friendly and are doing their best. The also got new software that seems to be causing issues . Check in took 30 minutes for me to go over information that was already in the system as to why I was there . I did also see some comments left by others about there pets passing . This too happened to me. My sweet little Emmy passed away and I still had to keep paying for her plan. Still not sure if these plans are a rip off or not . My family keeps telling me they are ripping you off. My other dog just went in this past week and they had to do an additional test that is not covered under the wellness plan. The cost they told me was $140 the day prior. I come in for the appointment and I’m told something is need too and it would now $170 .
