I absolutely loved the vet tech. Let me make that clear.
Came here because my cat had an ear infection. They failed to inform me my cat had a mass in his ear that caused this til it was to bad to ignore. They had reassured me it was just because of the ear infection and would go away after treatment.
All the treatments / ear drops made my cats condition worse.
I had to put my cat down today after this mass caused my cats face to be paralyzed & unable to function.
If they would’ve told me from the very first appointment. My baby would’ve survived or gotten help on time.
I’m never ever coming back to banfield.

My dog is very very sick. I describe the situation, but twice the vets have said they cannot find anything wrong with him. He lost a significant amount of weight because he is unable to eat very much. They said they can’t find anything wrong so they send us to a specialist. That is just not possible. He is whimpering and probably needs pain medication. They refuse to give us anything that could mask a problem. In the meantime, he is suffering. I have the wellness plan. But would not include any treatment to actually help him.

Dr. Leigh is amazing! The front staff is my favorite, they are friendly and make you feel welcomed. Perla, thank you for loving and caring for Kit.

Dropped my 2 cats off at 9:30am and one of them had a very serious leg injury. Well guess what, they called me back at 3:50pm saying they could not do anything because of him being aggressive, my other cat was not looked at either because they were “short staffed” 7 hours of keeping my cats in a grey confined room with no food or water or treatment. Instead of taking 2 minutes to call me within that 7 hour period you let my cat suffer and let his condition get worse. I will be pursuing legal action regarding this.

Gave my appointment away to a later time slot before I showed up, and had us wait for an hour in the exam room just to find out that they “had an emergency” which is why they were so behind with our follow up exam results. Their lack of communication caused an unnecessary exhausting anxiety filled appointment experience for my dog. For as much as we pay there every month for their plan, they do a crappy job with customer service. There was plenty staff on hand regardless of an emergency or not to at least update people on waiting times.
Frequently Asked Questions About Banfield Pet Hospital
Does Banfield provide emergency care services?
No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Can I get veterinary care online?
To help pets and their people stay healthy, Banfield clients who have Optimum Wellness Plans® can get remote general pet care advice and triage support directly from a veterinarian 24/7 through Vet Chat™ on the Banfield app.
What preventive pet health care services does Banfield offer?
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:
• Vaccinations
• Dental Care
• Parasite Control
• Nutritional Counseling
• Behavioral Counseling
• Comprehensive Examinations
What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
