I was very impressed with the staff from Vetco ! Very friendly and professional. Registration process was quick. I called Petco after talking with my normal vet to find out the cost of an office visit and 2 vaccines for my girl Sage. My cost was $120 less at Vetco. I will absolutely recommend giving them a visit.

Regarding my 9/15 visit at your North Aurora, IL LOCATION- my experience at Vetco yesterday, was horrific. I have been using Vetco vaccination clinics for approximately six or seven years because of their convenience and affordability. During my visit, I specifically requested that my dog receive only the one-year rabies vaccination. I clearly declined the other vaccines, including Bordetella and the other vaccines that were expiring. Despite making my decision clear, I felt repeatedly pressured and made to feel as though I was making the wrong choice by declining the three-year rabies vaccination. Was met with great defensiveness for the veterinarian administering my dogs vaccine. She focused more on being rude and defensive, reading my choice for a 1 yr rabies vaccine. What was particularly concerning was the veterinarian telling me that “next year, and for future vaccinations”, I should take my dog to her primary veterinarian “instead”. When I questioned why, I was told that her primary veterinarian could administer the vaccine. I found this explanation confusing and inappropriate, since Vetco also provides this service and I specifically chose Vetco for its affordability and convenience. I was eventually told that I could use either provider, which made the initial recommendation even more difficult to understand. I want to emphasize that I am fully capable of making informed decisions regarding my dog’s vaccinations. I welcome professional recommendations, but once I have clearly declined an optional vaccine, I expect that decision to be respected without repeated pressure or making me feel guilty about it. The veterinarian’s approach left me feeling dismissed and uncomfortable rather than informed and respected. I believe this interaction warrants review and that the veterinarian should receive guidance regarding respectful communication, informed consent, and respecting a client’s decision after a recommendation has been declined.
