Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

General dentistry

All Banfield Pet Hospital® locations offer basic dental care for pets. This may include professional cleanings, dental examinations, or oral surgeries to maintain oral health and prevent diseases.

General surgery

Surgery is a broad category in veterinary medicine. At Banfield Pet Hospital ®, surgeries may include routine spaying and neutering to common operations, performed to address health issues or injuries in animals.

Microchipping

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, we provide microchipping for pets. This process involves inserting a chip under the pet's skin, with a unique ID that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Parasite control

Parasite treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® may involve administering medication to eradicate and prevent parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and worms, that infest or infect animals.

Spaying and neutering

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) are surgical procedures performed under anesthesia. These procedures can help prevent unwanted breeding and may reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues in pets.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are available at Banfield Pet Hospital®. Administering vaccines is a preventative health care measure that can help protect pets against various diseases, such as rabies, distemper, and parvovirus.

Our dog used to be nervous to enter before he knew what was inside, and now enters with confidence, as he knows he’s in great, gentle, treat-filled hands, to reward for doing a great job during checkups and vaccinations. They talk through all the options carefully with owners and make all feel comfortable in the process! Thanks Banfield!

Recently had my dog at the Hoffman Estates location for his regular checkup. He had an ear infection, understandable. When I reached out for follow up I had a literal onslaught of unprofessionalism from "Kristie" she was clueless and passive aggressive. And blatantly lied about return calls. I had to call her back and she was unaware my dog had even been seen in the day that passed (thanks to a CVT). She even called my wife and said she would send proof, lol. Two interactions with Kristie one crazier then the other. I sent emails to corporate, they don't care. A CVT was helpful or we'd still be waiting to hear back. I do not recommend this location. And corporate will not get back to anyone.

Went because my male cat is having urinary issues, the exam was free since it was our first time, we were in a room for maybe 20 minutes and they took him to a different room for "examination" and then came back and just said he had a UTI. Gave us medicine for it and upon taking him to a different (better) vet we found out they never did any sort of testing or urinalysis to come to the conclusion that he had a UTI, didn’t say anything about his exam or how he was doing physically minus some comment about his teeth. tldr; took him to banfield, they claim he has a UTI, medicine didn’t help, they didn’t test his urine at all, poor service and poor communication because why wouldn’t they actually do any testing to come to the conclusion of him having a UTI. They literally just heard his symptoms and declared he had a UTI. Just poor service all around. And the front desk lady was not very kind-hearted.
