As a pet parent, it means everything to know your baby is in gentle, caring hands, and your team made us both feel comforted from the moment we walked in. You didn’t just care for him medically — you cared for his emotions, his comfort, and his well-being. Seeing the patience, kindness, and genuine love you showed Lucas reassured me so much. Thank you for treating him like family and making what could have been a stressful experience feel safe and comforting instead. I’ll never forget the compassion your staff showed us. Lucas and I are beyond thankful.

  I must say that my 2 dogs that come to the gurnee Banfield are some of the nicest people. They really make sure that my dogs are handled with kindness and love. My dogs get really nervous when they are gone without me but they reassure me that they will be safe. Doctors are very friendly , place is very clean.

  This was my first visit at Banfield Hospital. I was greeted with a warm welcome. The young lady that was assisting me was very kind and patient as well as the doctor. Im glad my neighbor referred me here. Changing our fur babies lives one at a time. Keep up the great work guys.

  We trusted Banfield to care for our senior dog, but our experience was deeply disappointing and ultimately heartbreaking. Banfield Pet Hospital is owned by Mars, Incorporated, a private family-owned company. Mars acquired Banfield in 2007 and operates it under their Mars Veterinary Health division. Banfield is a high volume veterinarian factory. We thought other people should be aware of our experience dealing with Banfield. Over multiple visits (including wellness), the last on January 13, our dog showed clear signs of declining health, including significant and dramatic weight loss. Given our dog’s age and breed, these changes should have raised serious concern and prompted further investigation or, at the very least, clear communication with us about potential underlying issues. Unfortunately, neither of the two veterinarians adequately tracked or addressed these changes, nor did they inform us of the seriousness of our dog’s condition. As a result, critical warning signs were missed, and we were not given the opportunity to pursue timely diagnostics or treatment options. Our dog’s health continued to deteriorate, and we ultimately had to make the devastating decision to euthanize him on January 29 after he collapsed and could not stand up. We can’t help but feel that earlier recognition and intervention might have made a difference in our dog’s quality of life, or at least allowed us to prepare and make informed decisions sooner. We share this not out of anger alone, but to urge the clinic to improve how they monitor senior pets, track weight changes, and communicate clearly with pet owners. No family should have to feel that their concerns were overlooked during such an important time. Shared our concerns to a Banfield Senior Veterinarian Supervisor responsible for 20+ Chicago area Banfield hospitals. She promised to correct the mistakes. Be cautious using Banfield - we have no way of knowing changes in Veterinarians conduct has occurred.
