- AAAbraham AnthonyAug 10, 20261.0I really don’t want to put down veterinarians because I think they have one of the most difficult jobs, and I have respect for everything they do for animals but, I sometimes feel like this industry is more about making money first. I just wish I would’ve had all the options available instead of spending $130 on useless medication that’s marked up 1500% and then told to come back in two weeks. Give all options right then and there if something is potentially cancerous. I’m glad I didn’t wait the two weeks and went back to my old vet. Who said we should do the surgery right away ASAP.

In the last two-three years, I have been very happy with the veterinarians who have been taking care of them and also all the staff working there. They are very familiar with my two shiba-inus, are very responsive to my requests, and are very careful with the procedures.
- DGdimaris gonzalezJun 19, 20261.0-0 stars I am extremely disappointed with the care my cat received at Banfield Pet Hospital in Lombard. I brought my cat in because she wasn’t eating and wasn’t acting like herself. They performed blood work and gave her a nausea injection, but we were sent home with little to no instructions about what to expect, how to monitor her, or what warning signs would require immediate emergency care. When they brought my cat back to us, she had urinated and defecated in her carrier and had apparently been left sitting in it for an extended period of time. It was heartbreaking to see her in that condition, especially when she was already so sick. After bringing her home, her condition continued to worsen, and we ended up rushing her to the emergency veterinarian. Unfortunately, we later had to make the devastating decision to euthanize her. I understand that not every illness can be cured, but I expected better communication, more compassion, and clearer guidance during such a serious situation. My experience left me feeling unsupported during one of the hardest moments of my life. Do not bring your vet to this location. Questions will never be answered.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
