-0 stars I am extremely disappointed with the care my cat received at Banfield Pet Hospital in Lombard. I brought my cat in because she wasn’t eating and wasn’t acting like herself. They performed blood work and gave her a nausea injection, but we were sent home with little to no instructions about what to expect, how to monitor her, or what warning signs would require immediate emergency care. When they brought my cat back to us, she had urinated and defecated in her carrier and had apparently been left sitting in it for an extended period of time. It was heartbreaking to see her in that condition, especially when she was already so sick. After bringing her home, her condition continued to worsen, and we ended up rushing her to the emergency veterinarian. Unfortunately, we later had to make the devastating decision to euthanize her. I understand that not every illness can be cured, but I expected better communication, more compassion, and clearer guidance during such a serious situation. My experience left me feeling unsupported during one of the hardest moments of my life. Do not bring your vet to this location. Questions will never be answered.

UPDATE: We just took our dog back this weekend as he was limping and we weren't sure why; Dr. Setar is very kind, accommodating and thorough with her examinations and she put together a detailed, itemized estimate for his upcoming procedure. We appreciate you taking such great car of our doggie! I also noticed you guys are answering calls more and I really appreciate it. We had a great first experience here when our dog went in for his annual physical and to get treated for an ear infection but he needs a surgical procedure at the same time as his dental cleaning and I have tried calling and calling to confirm the price of the surgery and no one ever answers the phone there and returns voicemails. Very frustrating.

The staff at the Downers Grove office are exceptional. They go above and beyond any other vet clinic I have ever been to. The vets pay attention to the small details and catch potential issues before they turn into bigger problems. I can’t thank the Downers Grove team enough for teaching me the risks of a grain free diet, and helping to pick out a food that will help my dog live a longer, healthier life. I know my dog is in good hands when she’s at Banfield.
