I had an emergency with my dog around 11:30 AM yesterday , and even though I had never been here before, they took us in immediately and started caring for my dog while I completed the intake paperwork. The staff were incredibly kind—they even brought me covers for my feet when I arrived barefoot in a panic.
The doctor was very patient and took the time to explain everything clearly, even as I kept asking the same questions repeatedly . I’m truly grateful for the compassion and care they showed us during such a stressful moment. This is a great place for pets in the neighborhood , very affordable…..I highly recommend them.
We will not be returning. Our tech S rushed me through intake questions, cut me off while I was speaking multiple times, and did not listen when we were advocating for our pets that exams are best when less restriction is done. My cat was scuffed and then put into a burrito wrap- all things that never had to be done in her previous exams (shes 9 yrs old). Our dog also was held in a way he could not sit for the exam. Our pets were over handled and then couldn’t get the tests/procedures done afterwards. It didn’t seem like the vet was assertive with the techs to advocate for the patients either. Pricing was expensive- $45 anal gland expression that they couldn’t complete since my dog was not tolerating it- but I believe if they tried to bond with him prior to doing something so invasive, it could be done as he’s also never had issues elsewhere with this. We did not take up the allotted time, 45 min appointments, and still felt rushed. We also waited a while to be seen post tech by the vet. All in all will not return. Idk if their owned by some big corporation but going back to a smaller practice that seems less corporate and more caring

I had an extremely disappointing experience with West Loop Veterinary Care regarding my dog’s international travel documents.
Before scheduling anything, I emailed the clinic asking for a full quote for: (1) the rabies vaccine appointment, (2) the CDC Certification of U.S.-Issued Rabies Vaccination, (3) the International Health Certificate (CVI) for Brazil, and (4) USDA endorsement fees.
I specifically asked for costs because international pet travel is expensive and time-sensitive. In their written response, they quoted me approximately $322 total for the rabies appointment and certification process, and explained the timing requirements. At no point did they clearly disclose that there would be two additional government fees of $127 each, plus several other charges that would bring the final bill to nearly $900 total across the process (3x the price they originally informed me!!!).
First, I paid around $200 for the rabies vaccine appointment. Then, when scheduling the health certificate appointment, they required a $150 deposit upfront. At the final appointment — only 10 days before my international flight — they suddenly presented me with an invoice for an additional $558 (already excluding the $150 deposit). They admitted they had “forgotten” to mention important government fees earlier.
What choice did I realistically have at that point? My dog had already received the vaccines there, I had already paid deposits, and my travel date was approaching fast. Finding another USDA-accredited veterinarian willing to complete all international paperwork on such short notice would have been almost impossible. I felt cornered into accepting the charges.
I explained that their lack of transparency put me in an unfair position and asked if they could at least waive the veterinarian fee given their mistake. They refused.
I understand that government fees exist, and I would have accepted them if they had been disclosed honestly from the beginning. The problem is not the existence of the fees — it’s the failure to provide accurate pricing upfront despite my very clear request for a complete estimate.
Traveling back to Brazil with my dog ended up costing more than bringing her into the United States in the first place, largely because of how this clinic handled the process. I would strongly encourage anyone needing international pet travel paperwork to get every single fee itemized in writing before committing to this clinic.
This vet has been the best for our golden retriever. They clearly care so much about giving him good care and making him enjoy his visits. We recently got a dental exam/cleaning bc his breath was getting bad, and it was such a smooth experience and such a big improvement. Everyone took the time to explain the procedure and aftercare instructions. Would highly recommend!

The doctor here is actually great—very knowledgeable and handled my dog with care. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The communication regarding pricing is terrible. Not once during the visit were costs disclosed or discussed. I was blindsided at checkout with a bill for $770, and I still don’t even know exactly what I paid and neither does the staff because they had to check everytime I ask.
It is heartbreaking to see another local vet ruined by Private Equity. This practice is backed by Suveto, and it shows—they prioritize extracting maximum profit over transparency and client trust. I can’t recommend a place that treats pet owners like walking wallets, no matter how good the vet is.
