  I brought my 4 month old puppy to Bowie barker for her first professional bath. Brenda made sure my puppy had a positive and comfortable first time. We also were able to make a cute Mother’s Day painting with her paw print! Thank you Debbie and Brenda. Would recommend 5 out of 5

  This was our first visit to Bowie Barker but definitely not our last. Teddy is a 167 pound 4 year old Newfi who had been rejected by several groomers over the years due to his size and his dislike of being brushed. With that, he hadn't been to a groomer in well over 12 months and was too matted for us to deal with. Kelly and Amara spent an entire day de-shedding Teddy so he could get a summer cut versus a total shave. Just the fact that they were able to save his tail is a miracle. They kept us posted on his progress throughout the day. We now have a new groomer so he can stay fresh! Thanks to the team at Bowie Barker! We will see you again soon.

  Wonderful service. They allowed me to make a very last minute booking when another groomer in town was a no show. Friendly staff, clean premises, pic updates throughout groom, great groomer. Expensive compared to what i usually pay bur probably standard for Chicago and the fact they took our booking with an hours notice more than won me over Would recommend

  I took my dog in for a "we-wash" appointment ($95) and added on the de-shedding treatment ($25). I brought my dog in, one of the people working confirmed the costs of the "we-wash" and "de-shedding" and another person there noticed that my dog had some dirt on her paws (she needed a bath) and said that they may need to trim some of the fur off to clean it. This person did not frame this as an additional cost but as a part of the "we-wash" that I had already agreed to. I said sure- whatever you need to do to give her the bath. At no point was I told that this "trim" was a $55 add-on that would be done by a separate person that I would be asked to tip separately. It was not until I came in to pick my dog up that I was notified that I would be paying $175 plus tip and not the $120 that I was expecting. $120 is already a lot to bathe and groom a dog- almost $200 is just wild. The people there are really nice and did a good job but this is just really poor business practices that put the customer in an unfair position.

  I brought my big guy in to be groomed today and I was amazed at how fantastic he looks (he was very dirty). I have never seen him so shiney and smell great. It was a lot of work for Kelly because this guy was dirty and very matted. She put a lot of hard work into him and it definitely shows. Thank you Bowie Barker for giving me my handsome pup back. I will be back!
