We took our puppy to Bond Vet for a surgical procedure. Following that procedure, she suffered catastrophic complications that ultimately resulted in the amputation of her leg.
Bond Vet’s response states that the cause was “never officially determined,” but that leaves out important context. We sought a second opinion from another veterinarian who documented concerns including iatrogenic vascular occlusion, tight sutures, and a tourniquet effect. When the sutures were removed, the swelling immediately decreased, but significant tissue necrosis and exposed bone had already developed.
We then took our puppy to a board-certified surgeon at MedVet, as recommended by Bond Vet. MedVet documented “left forepaw necrosis secondary to compartment syndrome vs operative complication.” We were told the likely explanations included an excessively tight bandage causing compartment syndrome or a complication from the original dewclaw procedure. Ultimately, her leg had to be amputated.
Bond Vet now publicly says they are “deeply sorry,” “take full accountability,” and changed their post-surgical protocols because of our puppy’s experience. Yet the vet, who performed the procedure, has never personally reached out or apologized to us.
While Bond Vet provided the financial assistance we requested, reimbursement cannot undo what happened. Our puppy will live as an amputee for the rest of her life.
Based on our experience, I strongly recommend against Bond Vet for surgical care and would not recommend them as your veterinarian. Anyone considering entrusting their pet to Bond Vet deserves to know what happened to ours.

I was able to make a same day short notice Saturday appointment with the most kind specialists. They saw me right away even upon arriving earlier than my appointment by half an hour. They diagnosed my pup, prescribed medication, and made sure I had all my questions answered. I’m so so so grateful. 🥹 best service ever experienced.

We took our family puppy here to get spayed and to have a dewclaw removal surgery. Her paw ended becoming extremely swollen. Bond Vet took no accountability and said it was due to a “secondary infection” from a wet bandage. No sense of urgency was in place to save the paw…. Two separate vet professionals (including a specialized Surgical Center) both confirmed that this was in no way due to a secondary infection, but a botched surgery where too much skin was taken off & stitches were too tight - cutting circulation. This has resulted in our puppy getting her entire LEG AMPUTATED. It’s a shame that Bond Vet was blaming the wet ground rather than their own medical staff… even if it was raining and the vet knows the risks of wet bandages, why didn’t they provide a protective waterproof coverage for it? They also initially refused to cover any costs related to the amputation. This has impacted our puppy’s entire life forever. She was in so much pain. Our hearts have been heavy.
