I am leaving this review regarding my experience with Dr. Laura Stowe. First, I want to acknowledge that my dog, Seven, is overweight. I take full responsibility for that and have been actively working on his weight management. My issue is not with the medical information Dr. Stowe provided, but with how it was communicated. During our phone conversation, I felt rushed and spoken to in a condescending manner. We discussed Seven’s weight, allergies, and treatment options. Dr. Stowe presented Cytopoint and Apoquel but did not explain the pros and cons of either option. As a first-time pet owner, I needed more information to make an informed decision rather than feeling pressured to choose on the spot. When I picked Seven up after his dental procedure, I learned that no one had reviewed his bloodwork, thyroid screening, or my concerns about possible arthritis and joint issues. After I requested to speak with the veterinarian, Dr. Stowe came in and again focused heavily on Seven’s weight in a way that felt repetitive and dismissive. She also informed me that only a basic thyroid screening had been performed, but the different testing options had never been explained to me beforehand. The most frustrating interaction occurred when I asked about Seven’s joints and possible arthritis. Instead of simply explaining her findings, she responded, “How do you think it’s doing?” As the veterinarian, I was asking because I genuinely did not know. A straightforward answer would have been more helpful and professional. I did contact Banfield afterward to express my concerns. The manager listened and apologized, which I appreciated. However, I still felt it was important to leave this review because communication, bedside manner, and professionalism matter. I understand that discussing a pet’s weight can be uncomfortable, and I agree that Seven’s weight is a concern. However, there is a respectful way to educate clients. Tone matters. The way questions are asked matters. The way information is delivered matters. I have trusted Banfield with Seven’s care for the past three years and have invested significantly in his health. As a paying customer and first-time pet owner, I expect to be treated with respect and provided with clear explanations so I can make informed decisions for my pet. I am not questioning Dr. Stowe’s medical knowledge. My concern is solely with her communication style and professionalism. Unfortunately, I left feeling talked down to rather than supported. For that reason, I will be requesting a different veterinarian for Seven moving forward.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ! Stopped bringing my dog here and dropping him off for wellness checks / dental cleanings after EVERY visit he was covered in piss and dehydrated! The receptionists in the front are also very unprofessional talking rudely about customers they just got off the phone with. I should’ve known this place was a red flag when one of the vets who was taking my dog in the back for his appointment was pulling on the leash choking my dog as she pulled him and then pretended not to notice ! IF YOU CARE FOR YOU PETS DONT BRING THEM HERE !!!

Kobe visited the dentist for his first teeth cleaning. He had a fractured baby tooth that I requested to be removed the same day. They successfully removed it, and Kobe had the cutest little stitches ever right next to his canine. His breath improved significantly. As someone who works in the dental field and cares deeply about teeth, I was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional job you did. I appreciate you guys!
