Shouldn’t even receive 1 star honestly. Went there to look for a bearded dragon water bowl and peaked at all the animals available. This was at 5:30 pm. Once heading to the reptiles, they specifically had a ball python marked 75% off which was the ONLY animal discounted that low!!!!!! that was NEAR DEATH!!!! The snakes mouth was OPEN, coiled in the corner and looked completely DEAD! I had to ask my husband 3 times “are you sure it’s not dead???!!” I was prepared to open the enclosure myself then and there. A petco worker came over to help some one else get Dubai roaches DIRECTLY 3 FEET in FRONT OF THIS SNAKE!!!! Proceeded to point out to the worker that he had a very sick snake near death right here and he did not even bother to look or give any attention or care and said “thanks for letting me know” and continued to scoop Dubai roaches. We went up to the counter and patiently waited in line to speak to the cashier to ask to speak to a manger over this snake. We asked to speak to a manager about a discounted snake that was near death that they had for sell. She immediately said “oh the 25% off snake, hes super sweet, are you wanting to see him?” We REPEATED “NO, you have a snake over there discounted to 75% off that is about to die” she said she’d go tell her manager real quick that was on the floor which turned out to be the first guy we spoke too. When she returned she said “crazy enough hes over there right now checking on him, you guys have a nice day” my husband asked what their policy was when it came to sick animals, she informed him they have a vet he would be going too. When asked for a corporate number and store number the employee became hostile and said she couldn’t give that info out and she didn’t know the store number by heart. While waiting in line I seen 2 dead deteriorating “baby bettas” on a rack right by checkout that were for sale for $2.99. You CANNOT tell me that was the first time an employee alone had walked past that snake today!! Or those dead bettas! Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for animals to have to go through this. Why is that specific snake that looks nearly dead is 75% off? To push off onto an innocent person to buy it and it to die on them or for them to get the correct medical attention?? CRAZYYY!!! This is the bottom of the line care and treatment here at petco!

Great service and friendly staff. Unfortunately poor fish keeping. I am very seasoned in aquatic systems, however despite my best efforts any fish purchased from here have a very high mortality rate. The most recent purchase of 12 fish resulted in all but one not surviving within 72 hours. For reference I do a drip acclamation and treatment. All my tanks are heavily planted and most have been running for over a year. I do weekly water parameters checks.

Unprofessional in resolving a completely avoidable situation. I believe it was all done with well intentions, but I brought my border collie in for a regular bath and necessities package. I usually groom him myself, but he doesn’t let me do his nails so I usually bring him for trims. This week, I decided to just let them handle it and spend the extra money. Upon drop off, I told them I was worried about his anal glands, that he had been itching on his bottom. That was the ONLY spot he was itching. Upon pick up, I was informed that they did a de-shed treatment and used a special seasonal scent on him (not sure if it was a doggy cologne or shampoo) that I did not ask for (as most long haunted dogs, his coat is very sensitive). The pick up area was hectic. A dog waiting to go back, my dog being excited, I just nodded her off and tipped the usual amount. Upon arriving home, I noticed his fur was really dry and his due claws were still pretty long. I called and mentioned the nails, she said he was anxious so she only grinded them. That’s okay, but I felt that’s something I should have found out at check out. I noticed he was itching, but it didn’t fully hit me till later how much he was itching. Then I looked at his fur, it was SO dry and his skin was irritated. All night, he panted excessively and was itching like crazy. When they opened, I called to inform the manager about my concerns. She honestly did not seem to sympathize with the situation and I felt very blown off. The stylist left no notes on what had been done. She told me she would “contact the stylist” and call me back. It’s now 3pm, and it’s $70 down the drain just to need to bathe him myself and take him to the vet. I understand there were good intentions, but nothing should have been done to my dog without me knowing. If she would have called, I would have said no. I will absolutely NOT recommend or be back. Especially after how I was brushed off when attempting to resolve the issue.
