I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hilliard and his staff. My 11-week-old puppy, “Major,” came down with parvo. We initially started him at a vet in our hometown, but long story short, I didn’t feel like he was getting the care he needed or deserved. Through a quick Google search and recommendations from friends, we brought him here.
I called Dr. Hilliard’s office, where he and his staff continued a very comforting and knowledgeable conversation about our treatment options before we brought Major in. After the phone call, we were able to make it to the office about an hour later, and when we arrived, we were seen immediately.
Dr. Hilliard went over everything thoroughly and bluntly, meaning he did not give us “the runaround,” and I very much appreciated that. He verbally explained our treatment plan and also had the explanations and costs printed out for us so we could clearly see everything Major would be receiving.
Major was hospitalized with them for three nights, where I truly believe he received the best care possible. We received in-depth updates promptly whenever we asked, which gave us peace of mind that he was good hands.
Cost-wise, everything was reasonable. He was no more expensive than the surrounding vets. They did what they could to help keep us within budget. The treatment itself was on the pricier side; however, you get what you pay for, and I would pay it all over again to have the comfort of knowing he was getting the best care possible.
Major is now at home recovering, and Dr. Hilliard still takes the initiative to reach out and check on Major. Taking little extra steps like that goes a long way for me.
We will continue to use Dr. Hilliard & his team from here on out.

My cat broke her leg recently, and Houston Veterinary Clinic was a life saver in getting her quick, quality care! I live in Macon, but the emergency vet here wasn’t able to see her, and my normal vet was not open yet. I called HVC after a quick Google search, and they told me to bring her. The team was so kind and gentle with my little broken baby, and Dr. Hilliard was fantastic at explaining her injury and all my options, and checking with me to make sure I was good with each next step.
I highly recommend this clinic for anyone looking for a team that’s easy to get a hold of, quick to see you, and clear with you about your pet’s condition and care.

Dr. Hilliard and his staff are the best i have ever seen. Super nice very thorough with your fur baby they treated mine as they would their's. They petted her gave her treats. Dr. Hilliard talked to us and he gave us opinion on her treatment. We did end up having to have her euthanized they made it as easy as they could, they let us make the decision on how long we spent with her before it was time.
I would recommend them for all of your fur babies.
Thank yall for being there for us.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Knox Hilliard for my special Orange cat Timmy for nearly a year, and since the day I found Timmy. Their practice is made up of the kindest staff, and they are incredibly quick to accommodate. Every time we come in, our Timmy is treated like a rockstar. Dr.Knox himself is very knowledgeable, straightforward, kind, and dedicated to his practice. He’s the first vet I’ve dealt with who takes the time to make communication and follow ups a priority during your pets care- and even more importantly considers every little possible diagnoses and cross checks everything. Timmy has had big issues, and very minor issues- but no matter the situation I am always welcomed in and he is always taken the best care of. They also do not charge unfairly, or unjustly.
