Today, I brought my puppy in for an appointment because he had been suffering from stomach issues for the past two days. Unfortunately, I had to attend alone because my husband had significant work responsibilities and was unable to accompany me.
Although I speak some English, I was extremely worried about my puppy’s condition and did my best to communicate as clearly as possible. I even had a translator prepared to help facilitate communication with the receptionist. However, the receptionist’s attitude toward me was hostile, dismissive, and frankly very rude from the beginning.
At one point, I had to personally approach the front desk to ask for information about my puppy because no one had contacted me with any updates. The receptionist responded in a cold and disrespectful manner, saying: “If we haven’t called you yet, it’s because he’s not ready. Usually you have to wait until you’re called.” My sister-in-law, who speaks fluent English, also explained to her that we had specifically been told we would receive a call within approximately 10 minutes, yet more than 3 hours had already passed without any communication.
Later, I had to leave and return to pick up my puppy. When I came back, the veterinarian had prescribed a special food to help with his digestion, so I selected three cans of the recommended food. Once again, the receptionist ignored us for an extended period of time while my puppy was crying and visibly distressed. Eventually, she allowed me to pay, but immediately ignored us again afterward.
Unfortunately, I do not know the receptionist’s name, but she appeared to be approximately 40–50 years old, fair-skinned, with light copper-colored hair.
I find the lack of empathy, compassion, and professionalism displayed during this experience completely unacceptable. When someone brings in a sick pet, they expect to be treated with at least basic respect, humanity, and understanding — especially when they are clearly making every effort to communicate in a language they are not fully fluent in.

I had a very disappointing experience with this office. I’ve brought multiple pets here for years everyone has always been nice enough to look past the long wait times. But my recent sick pet scheduled appointment was unexpectedly changed to a drop-off visit, and after leaving her there, it took over 5 hours before anyone even examined her. (I know this because when I called after 5 hours I was told she was fine in her kennel just waiting for the dr) To make matters worse, she was misdiagnosed and prescribed medication she didn’t actually need. The lack of communication, long wait time, and careless treatment were extremely frustrating and concerning. I would not recommend this office based on my recent experience.

Worst experience of a vet in entire time of being a pet owner. First receptionist took sweet time coming back. Guess she had a bad convo on phone since she came back with a horrible attitude. She then lied about us having appt even though I was able to pull it up on my phone. After which she was magically able to locate the appt. I was then informed after transporting my dying cat that they don’t take sick pets at the end of the day. This is the absolute worst vet office I’ve ever experienced. Will not be returning and will be informing all family friends and social media to stay as far away as possible if they value their pets.
Update my cat is now on the way to recovery thanks to you amazing people at dunwoody vet!!! Check them out. Save your time money and honestly your pets life by skipping this place.
