- LVLorilei Valeri1 day ago5.0The facility is beautiful and clean. The staff very friendly and accommodating. But by far the 5 stars is due to Dr Abby. In our brood of fur kids we have 2 formerly feral cats that adopted us when we moved to Rome. One of them had an awful smell from the mouth and terrible drooling. She was mistrustful , shy, and often hid. We were informed by another vet that she had a growth in her mouth and she was given steroids which seemed to help but only short term after each shot. When we brought Fenci to Dr Abby, she immediately diagnosed stomatitis. I had never even heard this auto immune disorder mentioned by the other vet! Now about a month after having her teeth pulled, Fenci is a completely different cat. She is playful, loving, and bold. She is HAPPY! When I think of the pain she must have been in for almost a year and we could have fixed it, but we had no clue - it breaks my heart. We just couldn't be happier that we found Etowah for the best care of our Mitzi, Lulu, Fenci, and Megs.

Dr. White has taken care of all six of my dogs, and every single experience has been exceptional. From the moment you walk through the doors of this newly opened clinic, you can tell that they genuinely care about their patients and the families they serve. Dr. White and her staff provide excellent communication, compassionate care, professionalism, and genuine hospitality every time we visit. It gives me great peace of mind knowing that my dogs are in the hands of someone who treats them with the same care and compassion that we would give them at home. Dr. White takes the time to explain everything, answer questions, and make sure you understand what is going on with your pets. If you’re looking for a veterinarian who truly cares about your animals and goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Dr. White and the entire team at Etowah Animal Hospital! 10/10 — We couldn’t be happier with the care our dogs receive!
- ENElise NicoleSep 2, 20265.0Went today as a new patient with two of our cats. Friendly from the moment we walked in. Very knowledgeable and willing to work with you on the care of your animal. We have a cat with FIV and other things going on and even after we left the office and were working through plans we were able to get help/responses fast. Personally loved that everything could be done right from exam room so we didn’t have to stand in the lobby to finish up paperwork or paying. Was very impressed with the doctor and everyone in the office .
- APA PadgettSep 2, 20265.0Dr. White and her staff are extremely attentive and compassionate. It is obvious that they love animals and want to support the families that they belong to. We took our dog, Millie, in just to have a spot on her back checked. After addressing that issue, Dr. White further examined her while asking additional questions. She suspected an underlying thyroid condition. For a few years we attributed Millie’s obesity to too many treats and table scraps. Dr. White suggested thyroid testing which came back positive. She prescribed a routine, daily medication, and, in just a couple of months, we’ve seen quite an improvement in Millie’s activity level and even some weight loss. Bc of Dr. White’s attentiveness and knowledge, a condition was discovered that we hadn’t even been looking for!! Thank you Dr. White and the entire staff for taking such wonderful care of our pets and families!!
- CTConstance TurnerAug 31, 20265.0I highly recommend Dr. Abby White, her assistant Lilly, and Elise who works the front office. They are very professional and got us in and out in record time. Our mini golden doodle came in with a severe ear infection that another veterinarian clinic did not properly treat and this office got us an appointment right away and got this situation under control. I appreciate all of you taking the time to help us and being so kind. Thank you so much!!!

What is the Paw Plan?
The Paw Plan is a wellness program that consolidates your pet's routine preventive care into manageable monthly payments rather than a single large annual expense. This plan makes it convenient to maintain regular examinations, vaccinations, and health screenings.
What vaccines does my pet need?
Essential vaccines for dogs include rabies and distemper/parvo (DAPP), with leptospirosis frequently recommended in our region; bordetella is typically required by boarding kennels, grooming facilities, and daycare centers. Essential vaccines for cats include rabies and FVRCP. Additional vaccines depend on your pet's individual lifestyle, and we will develop an appropriate vaccination schedule during a preventive care appointment.
Does my pet really need heartworm prevention year-round in Georgia?
Yes. North Georgia's extended mosquito season and temperate winters mean heartworm exposure remains a constant risk, which is why the American Heartworm Society recommends year-round prevention in this area. Treatment for an infected dog is costly and difficult for the animal, whereas preventive medication costs significantly less. We conduct annual testing and provide prevention medication at our clinic.
How do I get my pet ready for boarding?
Most boarding facilities, including our recommended partner Bestland Dog Boarding, require up-to-date rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. We advise scheduling any necessary vaccinations at least two weeks prior to boarding to allow sufficient time for immunity to develop.
Do I need an appointment, or do you take walk-ins?
We encourage scheduling appointments to ensure your pet receives thorough, unrushed care. You may book online or call (706) 413-2737. We make every effort to accommodate same-day appointments for ill pets and urgent situations during regular business hours.
How do I transfer my pet's records from another clinic?
Complete our records transfer authorization form, and we will contact your previous veterinarian to obtain your pet's medical history. You will not need to obtain the records yourself.

What should I expect at my pet's first visit?
Plan for a relaxed, unhurried visit. We'll review your pet's history, do a nose-to-tail physical exam, and talk through any questions you have about diet, behavior, vaccines, or parasite prevention. Bring any prior medical records and a list of current medications. If it's easier, your previous clinic can send records ahead using our records transfer form. Dogs should arrive on a leash and cats in a carrier.
