Due the negligence of dr.shipman I lost my best friend. We brought my 9yr old blue heeler in for vomiting. We explained the time line of when everything started and dr. Shipman said she needed to do blood work and some X-rays told us the price and we said that’s fine what ever makes her better. The X-rays were never done. She went based off the blood work and lied to us about it in the process said her WBC was slightly elevated what we later found out it was extremely high. She sent me home with anti biotic and anti nausea meds and told me to feed her chicken and rice. We take her home Friday night and feed her all seems fine then she stops eating completely. I call Sunday and tell her something is wrong she has stopped eating and she prescribes a GI diet and appetite stimulant. I pick those up on Monday and give her the stimulant and fix her food still not eating not interested in it. So I call back and ask them to do the X-rays, I take her in the X-rays are done she has an obstruction. We see a different vet that informs us we need to go to pet ER immediately. We take her to the er and they review everything and tell us the obstruction has caused a perf and she is leaking into her belly and that we only have a 50/50 shot with surgery of her making it but it’s going to cost us $12K. At this point she is in pain and has been in pain for several days and the most humane thing is for us to put her down. Had dr shipman done the X-rays on Friday that we agreed to we probably would not have had to put my dog down. In this entire process we have spent $1,500 with banfield and another $2,200 with the ER. Simply because she did not do her due diligence and check every avenue of what could be wrong with Bella.

I was initially skeptical about the clinic in the pet food store but they are excellent. They truly care about my pets and treat me with dignity and respect
