🚨KEEP YOUR ANIMALS FAR FAR AWAY FROM BANFIELD AND DR KOPP!!!! IF I COULD LEAVE NEGATIVE 5 I WOULD🚨
I say this as a 10+ year customer of Banfield, my wife being a former employee, and an experienced dog lover. I will NEVER return to another Banfield after our experience with Dr Kopp.
To start this lengthy review I will start with where we began on Saturday when we brought out German Shepherd Dog Eddie in for a scheduled visit due to a slip and limping on his hind leg. It took us about an hour and a half to be checked in for a drop off appointment. After he was finally checked in about an hour later they called us asking if we wanted to hear the news via phone or in person. So we rushed back for Dr Kopp to explain to us how she’s 99% sure Eddie has Bone Cancer “Osteosarcoma” in two limbs (attached are his Banfield X-rays) and “he would need to be put down soon like this week soon because we don’t want him to be in all this pain” Dr Kopp then stated “I’m only sending this Xray off for a consult so yall can get the closure you need”.
After hours of crying and emotional distress turned into a full 24 hours we took it upon the guidance of Dr Kopp to schedule a euthanasia service for Wednesday giving us just a little extra time with him and the kids could say their goodbyes.
His Consult comes back on Tuesday less than 24 hours before the euthanasia is scheduled (Also posted for reference) and the request from Dr Kopp now states it potentially could be Osteosarcoma but the consult says the direct opposite and most likely due to a previous wrist fracture and some arthritis in the hip. We immediately cancel the euthanasia. Dr Kopp calls my wife and says “welllll I might’ve jumped the gun let’s get a biopsy at Blue Pearl”
Well it’s now Thursday, no Biopsy Needed, no additional screens or labs, just an exam and consult with a radiologist and orthopedic doctor. They immediately determined this is ABSOLUTELY NOT Osteosarcoma and no reason for anyone to believe he does. It’s early signs of hip dysplasia and arthritis. Something manageable not a death sentence like prescribed by Dr Kopp.
Again STAY AWAY whatever you do go anywhere else for any of your babies and don’t fall victim to the same negligence and malpractice that we did here with Dr Kopp at Banfield on Peachtree Industrial Blvd

Was 10 minutes late to appointment, but I was quickly checked in, and moved to exam room in less than 5 min. Doctor was quick to visit the room, verified who we were then quickly asked questions and listened to issues we were hoping to get looked at. All issues, all questions were answered quickly and appointment was over in less than 40 min. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Horrible HORRIBLE HORRIBLE !!!!! our home Banfield location shut down near our home where we signed up (Peachtree hill) and so we took our 2 kitties to the other Duluth location which is this one and i was told by Kimberly in the exam room about upgrade to our package which includes dental so we explored the idea so she can get us discounted dental xray prices and she said our upgrade will become official when we check out at the front desk. The experience with pricing was very strange with Kimberly inside the room so I told her we are not going to upgrade. Then we come to find out that she misrepresented the information and that the upgrade was official already from what she did inside the exam room and I reminded them of what she told me but it became such a horrible long wait and I was told manager will fix it but Caroline calls be and says she cannot reverse it back to our month to month membership because upgrade was done and now we will be in a new 12 month contract if we decide to stay on any plan with Banfield. Basically we are being punished for a mistake an employee made. this is horrible. Plus this being RIGHT after we find out our 4 year old kitty needs dental work immediately. Now I am scrambling to find out what to do. I have escalated this but no higher manager has even bothered to reach out to me. I am really not impressed with this type of treatment. What happened to customer service and not punishing clients for the mistakes of employees? Truly a horrible experience and I do not feel Caroline has any true manager skills because she just does not get anything I explained. Hugely dismayed. I got this email to rate my experience and this is why I decided to type this up. Very frustrated and worried about my kitties now or what to even do and where to go!!!

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
