- MMMayaJun 13, 20261.0Please pay attention to the one star reviews. Banfield is priced twice as high as a typical veterinary office and their level of service is cut in half. Despite them being physically connected to the PetSmart store and promoted by PetSmart they’re somehow not “affiliated” with PetSmart and once you have an issue, PetSmart explains they’re not affiliated with Banfield and Banfield, instead of taking any accountability for anything, explains that they have to “contact corporate” as they have no control over anything but will in fact, take your payment. We paid a little under $300 for an exam, ear cleaning and meds for an ear infection. We went here solely because we had an incident while our dog was at the grooming salon which, PetSmart on their end handled perfectly (the grooming salon and PetSmart’s management is great at this location), my issue is solely with Banfield. At our local veterinarian office, we get an exam, ear cleaning, routine shots and medication for around the same exact amount. When the egregious pricing was brought up the response was “well corporate raises pricing every year and that’s why the pricing is so high”. I have no issue with doing what’s right for our dog but pricing like this shouldn’t be legal. Avoid and support your local veterinarian office instead of these modern day pirates.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
