  It has taken me almost a year to write this review because losing my Scooby was one of the most devastating experiences of my life. He wasn’t “just a dog.” He was my baby, my son, and a member of my family. I trusted Highland Animal Clinic and Dr Phil Anderson with his care, and I deeply regret that decision. In my experience, Scooby was misdiagnosed by Dr Anderson and received treatment that I later questioned after speaking with other veterinary professionals. After his condition worsened, we sought additional care, including at BluePearl, St. Mary’s, and an emergency veterinary hospital in Columbia. I was told by multiple veterinary professionals that they had serious concerns about what had previously been done and that they would not have approached his treatment the same way. More than $10,000 in veterinary expenses later, my dog died and his death was not peaceful. He suffered tremendously. Watching him go through that is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am heartbroken to this day because they didn’t treat his symptoms. What made an already horrific situation worse was how unsupported and dismissed I felt by Highland Animal Clinic afterward. I wanted accountability, answers, compassion, and some indication that what happened to Scooby mattered. Instead, I felt like I received excuses. I blame them for my dogs death. I was so disturbed by the circumstances surrounding his care that I even consulted an attorney regarding whether I had grounds to pursue legal action. I wanted them to pay for killing my dog. Almost a year later, I still cry over Scooby. I still struggle with anger about what happened, and I genuinely pray that God helps me release the resentment I carry toward this experience. I cannot tell another pet owner what decision to make, but I can say this without hesitation: I would never entrust another animal I love to this clinic. If you are considering bringing your pet here, please ask questions, advocate for your animal, seek a second opinion when something does not feel right, and do not be afraid to go somewhere else. I wish every single day that I had done so sooner for Scooby. I hate this place In response to owner, my dog was patient at highland and received monthly medication. He had been a patient since we moved down in 2023 up until his passing. You dropped the ball everyone in your profession agrees!

  I've used HAH for 25 years and have NEVER been disappointed. The staff, techs, and vets are wonderful. I feel completely confident in the care provided.

  Had a very wonderful experience at HAH as a first time owner of a first time canine patient. From the front desk, vet tech to the veterinarian, everyone was kind and compassionate. Will recommend to all friends and family!

  The staff here were extremely polite and caring during our time of need. Mrs Brooke took great care of our precious cat. She was very informative and did a great job keeping us calm all while tending to our cats needs. Thank you to Dr Moon for treating our fur baby and helping us get on a healthier path.
