  This grooming experience was traumatic for our family. Our toy poodle was booked for a full grooming: shampoo, hair cut and extra for calm and refresh add on. Selene examined our dog and noticed some matting on her right hind leg. She indicated that it might require a lower cut, which she showed us on a swatch: a medium low cut. When we picked up our toy poodle, she was completely shaved with “brush burns” under her ears. When my daughter saw her, she was shocked to tears, literally .The groomer was very dismissive of our concerns. No apologies. She simply said that our dog was more matted than she thought and that the brush burns were very common. Our dog is two years old and has never had brush burns. Our dog began behaving differently after the grooming. She is normally happy, playful and energetic. After the grooming, she was fearful and timid and after almost a week, has only just begun to trust us again. Point: The groomer should have called and pointed out her concerns and given us the option to decide if we wanted her shaved. FIVE STARS to the manager on duty at the time and to the veterinary staff who assisted us. They were very professional and compassionate.

  Trying to find a new groomer for my Shih Tzu I called Petco and was directed to the Edgewood location. When I called trying to see about an appointment the man (and I use that term loosely) was disrespectful and treated my call like I was trying to punk him. And the guy wouldn't stop laughing and kept talking and laughing as if my business was a joke. I'll go back to Petsmart(where his grooming was so bad that Blu trys to hide if he even sees the Petsmart sign. So petco keep right on laughing as you've lost my business for grooming and supplies.

  I am writing this at 1 am. I am so frustrated that I am still awake thinking about it. The manager, Kimberlee, who mind you was dressed in sweat pants! Was disgustingly rude and dismissive to me. She also left the only employee alone at the register so i was not able to buy my sweet baby his food due to the MASSIVE line! I had to leave!! Her attitude was so unprofessional. The sweet young girl running the register all alone while she did nothing and was rude! In sweatpants!! What has this world come to. Multiple registers, only one employee, and a lazy rude manager in sweatpants. My first ever one star review. But i doubt the only one they’ll receive due to her working there. So disappointing.

  I take my dog here for grooming. The groomers have always been kind and my dog comes back looking good but I saw something yesterday that concerned me. While I was waiting I watched the grooming manager groom a dog. When it was time to brush the dog’s teeth the dog resisted but didn’t look aggressive. The manager gave up very quickly and that dog’s teeth were not brushed. It made me concerned that if the manager is not putting in an effort, the other groomers might not either. The whole reason I choose the essentials package is so my dog’s teeth get brushed and now I have no confidence that that is in fact happening. I’m not likely to bring my dog to be groomed at this location again.
