Everything was great! Took my cat for vaccines & everything went smooth and the staff & vet were very kind. There was about a 30 minute wait despite making an appointment but that is pretty typical at vets & they did their best so it doesn’t really matter to me. Price was reasonable too

A "comprehensive exam" is meaningless if potentially life-threatening findings aren't communicated to the pet owner. My pet had a comprehensive exam at the Banfield Acworth location on 05/25/26 by Dr. Rodriguez, and I was told my pet received a full-body examination. What I wasn't told was that the veterinarian had already documented a melanoma/mass in my pet's medical record. There was no discussion about it. No explanation of what it could be. No recommendation for further diagnostics or referral. No urgency whatsoever. Because my dog has long fur and the mass was relatively small, I didn't notice it until several days later while closely examining my dog's paw. Concerned, I scheduled an appointment at another Banfield location. Before the veterinarian there even examined my dog, they confirmed the exact location of the mass because it had already been documented in my medical records during the previous visit. That was the moment I learned the first veterinarian had known about it all along. I cannot understand how a veterinarian can identify a suspected melanoma during a comprehensive exam, document it in the medical record, and then fail to mention it to the owner before they leave the clinic. Even if I had already known it was there, it should have been discussed. That's part of providing competent medical care and allowing owners to make informed decisions. Instead, I lost valuable time because information that should have been communicated during the appointment never was. Pet owners pay for comprehensive exams because they trust their veterinarian to identify and communicate important medical findings. Discovering that something as serious as a suspected melanoma was quietly entered into the chart without a single conversation is unacceptable.
