Galilea was rude and refused to get me a manager when I asked for one. I’ve come to this Petco many times and I’m upset at how my visit was here. I won’t be coming here again.

Always nothing ever wrong with one exception. Our dog only eats the Freshpet Beef & Bison. Leaving Tuesday early. Needed to take with us at lease a dozen rolls and only got 3.

This location’s grooming services are chronically poor. Drop off is always a headache, none of the staff have any urgency to help you. Once they finally acknowledge you, there are no smiles. Clearly it’s an enormous chore to give even mediocre customer service. We will not be coming back to this location for our grooming needs. A note to the groomers, there are other jobs out there if you dislike yours so much.

For some background, I have two cats, one of which is more cautious but have never bit or scratched me. This is a cat will have her nails out and when I start playing with her, puts them away and uses her “soft” paws to play. She’s extremely gentle and social and won’t hurt a fly. I’m also not a wonder who things her pets are perfect, my other cat lacks many brain cells and bites hard when overstimulated and I warned them of this. Anywho, they firstly acted like they’ve never seen or touched a cat before. After doing my crazy cat, they open the door expecting her to come out (lol) and then they start tipping the cage completely upside down to get her out. Whoever has had cats, knows this is not going to “please” them. She wasn’t swiping or hissing, just scared as she being tossed out of her cage. When they finally got her out, they didn’t hold her by the scruff, use a towel or any other measures (food or treats) that any other vet or other Petco has done (that actually works). My cat then steps forward trying to take the leash off, falls off the table and the employee (who kept saying she was reading her body language) ran to the other side of the room practically strangling my cat in the air as she was still holding the leash and my cat was dangling… I was livid, this is the easy cat and she gives us no issues and was not doing anything wrong. They told us they couldn’t do it and today my husband went back after a few months and they blocked her from services. I have never seen someone handle a cat so poorly and read body language so incorrectly. It felt like I was watching a poorly made and ridiculous SNL skit about a vet afraid of cats.

We’ve been patients of Dr. Rubin and the Vetco New Tampa team for almost a year, and our experience has been excellent from the very beginning. Dr. Rubin has cared for both of our dogs, Boots and Ella, and we have always felt confident that they are in good hands. Boots has struggled with seasonal allergies, which required several visits and multiple adjustments to his treatment plan over time. Dr. Rubin worked with us through different treatment options, taking the time to monitor his progress and make changes when needed. Thanks to that dedication and persistence, Boots’ allergies finally seem to be under control, and we couldn’t be more grateful. What stands out most is the care and compassion shown by both Dr. Rubin and the staff. Their pet-side manner is loving, attentive, and responsive. They take the time to answer questions, explain recommendations, and make sure both pets and pet parents feel comfortable during every visit. As a family with two dogs, we’ve also found the Petco Vital Care Premier program to be a tremendous value. Veterinary care can become expensive quickly, and the program has helped offset costs while ensuring Boots and Ella receive the care they need. Finding a veterinarian you trust is important, and we feel fortunate to have found Dr. Rubin and the team at Vetco New Tampa. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for knowledgeable, compassionate veterinary care.
