I have been a Banfield client since the 1990s and have trusted Banfield with the care of my pets for decades. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I arrived with two dogs for a scheduled appointment. During a previous visit, I had been instructed to park near the front entrance and ask for assistance if I needed help bringing my dogs into the clinic. Because I am disabled and my dogs become extremely anxious during veterinary visits, I followed those instructions. I brought one dog inside and asked for assistance. The employee at the front desk looked at me but did not respond. I placed my first dog in an exam room, returned to my vehicle, and brought in my second dog. I was then asked to place my dog on the scale. At that point, I explained that my other dog was crying in the exam room and that I needed to get him first. When I returned with both dogs, they were upset and difficult to manage, which only increased the stress of the situation. I again asked for assistance. The employee remained seated behind the counter and never acknowledged my request. After being ignored multiple times while struggling with two distressed dogs, I became frustrated and said, “Could you stop looking pretty and assist me, please?” Rather than addressing the fact that I had repeatedly asked for help, the employee went to the back and returned with the veterinarian. The veterinarian’s primary concern was my comment to the employee. I explained exactly what I had said and why I was frustrated. Instead of attempting to resolve the situation, the veterinarian told me to leave the clinic. I then had to gather two upset dogs and carry them back to my vehicle by myself despite having requested assistance multiple times. What is most disappointing is that no one seemed concerned about why a long-time client was asking for help in the first place. The focus was entirely on a frustrated remark rather than the repeated lack of assistance that led to it. This incident follows another recent visit where I felt I was being sold supplements for my dog’s liver values without receiving the thorough communication and guidance I expected. Important issues such as my dog’s dental health were never discussed, despite my concerns. After more than 30 years as a Banfield client, I expected better customer service, better communication, and at the very least, basic assistance when requested. Being ignored, then asked to leave after expressing frustration, is not the level of care or professionalism I expect from Banfield.

everyone is always very polite and helpful. They don’t try to make you spend a ton of money on tests like some places do. they go one step at a time if you have an issue and help resolve it.

We LOVE Banfield! We've been customers for over 15 years in different states. It's so convenient and the perks of the membership fit our needs. The UTC/Sarasota Banfield is wonderful! Clean. Happy and knowledgeable staff. Timely. And they can usually fit us in when issues arise with our pups.

It took a long time for me to come forward with this review. First of all, lets talk about the 'pet drop off' process. I had a senior cat with chronic kidney disease. They knew this. They neglected to tell me during their "drop off only" phase that my cat was going to sit in her carrier for 4-6 hours with no access to food, water, or litter. It took the 3rd drop off to figure out what was going on after she urinated herself in the carrier during her 2nd visit. I am fairly certain that this exasperated her CKD condition. Then, theres no way to cancel the membership when your cat passes away, which was not explained to me when I signed up. Next, I was shamed for looking into grain-free, more natural food options for my rescued siamese. I was shamed for wanting to cook for my cat because the vet insisted that I was going to make my cat incredibly ill with malnutrition. She insisted on doing a prescription diet, which continuously made her vomit and itch, no matter which rx brand I used. Come to find out they make profit off of selling the prescription food. If you love your pet, go to an independent vet and stay away from these corperate money-hungry wannabes.
