I’ve been a repeat customer at this Petco vet for my dog and have always had positive experiences—until today.
When I arrived for my appointment (which I booked a month in advance), the front desk employee immediately made me feel like my appointment was an inconvenience. She audibly sighed and mentioned she had already cleaned, implying they were essentially closed even though my appointment was scheduled during business hours.
After the visit, when it was time to pay, I let her know that I have The Vet Membership, which should cover the cost of the visit. She said she couldn’t find it in the system and insisted I needed to pay. When I declined, she accused me of laughing at her (which I did not) and then told me she was “doing me a favor” by removing the charge.
The entire interaction felt rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. As a loyal customer, I expected a much higher level of professionalism. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location.

I have a newly adopted pet and they were very gentle with handling my fur baby well.

I think the medicine is pricey
Dr Melissa is amazing, but my cat, who was incubated for tests, had Nexguard applied half way down her spine. After we arrived home, I let her out of her carrier and she was hungry, but after eating I saw this white foamy stiff coming from her mouth. It was bc of the improper placing, as well as not getting the protection on her skin, not hair (She’s an American short haired cat). She was not herself for almost 48 hrs.
Then when I called in theVetco receptionist misinterpreted my concern for her, and the fear in my voice for yelling at her, which I did not. Other than these two things, Vetco in Pinellas Park, Florida has been awesome.
