Brought my old man and best friend, Oreo (11 year old dog) to this care team after experiencing an alarming change in the appearance of his eyes. He has had had cataracts most of his life but otherwise has been 'functionally blind'. His left eye started to bulge and his pupil was no longer present. Animal eye guys got me an appointment with Dr. Taryn within hours of inquiring. She gave a comprehensive explanation on Oreos situation and curated a sustainable and non invasive treatment plan. Thank you for making sure my stinky man is comfortable and okay! Thankfully his issues weren't anything immenent or causing pain. I would absolutely recommend this place for your pets eye care needs. Dr. Taryn knows her stuff and is passionate about making sure your pet is comfortable! Another thing to mention, Oreo usually gets very anxious and scared at the vet but seemed to like the staff! He even seemed to miss Dr. Taryn when she left the exam room, whining for her which I've NEVER seen him do to another person other than me, especially at the vet 🤣 Front end staff were also pleasant and easy to deal with. Pricing was transparent and way more reasonable than I was expecting considering that they are a specialist facility.

I’ve had multiple outstanding experiences with Dr. Overton throughout this past year as my 7 year old Pug Bullet has had multiple eye issues in both eyes. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, compassionate, and professional. Dr. Overton took the time to thoroughly examine Bullet, clearly explain the diagnosis and treatment options, and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. It is obvious that they genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. Their expertise, attention to detail, and kindness gave me complete confidence that Bullet was receiving the best possible care. Thanks to Dr. Overton’s treatment, Bullet is doing much better, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an exceptional veterinary eye specialist. Thank you for your outstanding care and dedication.

We were fortunate to get an appointment with Dr. Trayn Overton for our dog, who had been diagnosed with a corneal ulcer that was not responding to treatment from our primary veterinarian. Seeking a second opinion from a veterinary ophthalmologist, we were hopeful after the exam. Dr. Overton performed a procedure and prescribed new medications, and we left feeling optimistic about our dog's care. Unfortunately, the experience quickly deteriorated when we had follow-up questions regarding which medications should be continued and which should be discontinued. We called before the office's stated closing time and received no answer. We called again the following morning and left a voicemail. Several hours later, we called a third time, left another voicemail, and still received no response. When dealing with a serious eye condition, timely communication is not a luxury—it's an essential part of patient care. Pet owners should not be left guessing about medication protocols or wondering whether their concerns are being heard. Dr. Overton may be clinically excellent, but the lack of responsiveness from the office was extremely disappointing. For a specialty practice, I expected significantly better follow-up and communication. Based on our experience, I would rate the medical care positively, but the customer service and accessibility were a 0 out of 10. UPDATE: After posting this review, Dr. Overton personally reached out to me and thoroughly reviewed the communication timeline. It appears there was a disconnect in communication, and while I did eventually receive the answer regarding my dog's medication, there was enough phone tag and missed connections that I believed my question had gone unanswered. I still believe the initial communication process could be improved, particularly when pet owners are dealing with urgent ophthalmic issues and medication questions. However, I greatly appreciate Dr. Overton's professionalism, her willingness to investigate the situation, and her personal follow-up. That level of accountability is rare and deserves recognition. Most importantly, I have been very pleased with the medical care my dog has received, and we look forward to seeing Dr. Overton again for his recheck.
