I I came to Murphy's with my daughter as her Frenchie had an obvious UTI. The vet & tech were quite adamant that it was an emergent uterine hemorrhage and recommended labs/scans that would've been $900 which were declined. It was determined her dog had a bad UTI on the urinalysis. Amoxicillin was prescribed, after several days our dog had an allergic reaction with full body hives & facial swelling 30-45 minutes after taking the med. We called to ask for the antibiotic to be switched because it seemed that she had developed an allergy to penicillins - quite common. Jordan, a vet tech, insisted twice it was not the antibiotic that caused the reaction and to keep taking it whilst belittling me over suggesting this. Our dog was later rushed to the ED for trouble breathing which required multiple rounds of IV medications and 5 hours in an oxygen chamber. The emergency vet said it was a severe penicillin allergy, as we had thought. Had we given her the further doses of amoxicillin, as we were told to do by the tech, our dog would likely be dead. Fortunately she is now much improved. Ultimately I’m very concerned with the lackadaisical response to a valid concern that could’ve proven fatal for our beloved pet, and would caution others to seek a second opinion before taking the advice given here.

I have trusted Murphy Veterinary Hospital with my fur babies for many years, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about them. Dr. Holly Bertram is, without a doubt, the best veterinarian I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate, and takes the time to explain what is happening and what needs to be done. Most recently, my dog Jewel became very sick with Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome (AHDS). She was vomiting and having severe bloody diarrhea, and I was terrified. Dr. Bertram and her team knew what they were dealing with and gave Jewel the treatment and care she needed to get her on the road to recovery. Seeing my girl getting better after being so sick meant everything to me. Katie was absolutely amazing with Jewel. You can truly tell how much she loves animals. She treated Jewel with so much kindness and compassion, and her genuine concern for her was incredibly comforting during such a scary time. I also want to recognize Tia at the front desk. When I called and explained that Jewel was sick and needed to be seen urgently, she went above and beyond to find a way to fit us in. That kindness meant more than she probably realizes. My history with Murphy Veterinary Hospital goes back many years. They also cared for my three dachshunds throughout their lives and into their senior years. When the heartbreaking time came to say goodbye to each of them, they treated my babies with incredible love, compassion, and dignity. I will never forget how wonderfully they cared for them right through the end of their lives. Our pets are family, and I wouldn’t trust mine with just anyone. I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Bertram, Katie, Tia, and the entire Murphy Veterinary Hospital team. After everything they have done for my animals over the years, I can wholeheartedly say I wouldn’t want anyone else caring for my fur babies. I highly recommend Murphy Veterinary Hospital! ❤️🐾

Dr Beckham & this entire staff saved my Gator’s life. He had an appointment at his regular vet in town (friendship) and worsened significantly. Friendship would not take him any sooner and Murphy accepted him with open arms and saved his life. It was all hands on deck, they took such great care of him, and it costed 50% less than what I would have paid at friendship. This team was so caring, they listened to me, and they listened to my Gator as well. I cannot thank this team enough.
