this is my first time trying a location in a PetSmart since moving to Longwood and let me say I’ve been very disappointed. I’m gonna stick to standalone Banfields from now on. I made an appointment for my cat for a dental cleaning & general wellness check up so I had to drop him off at 7:30 in the morning. I dropped him off early at 7:15 AM and when I was five minutes away from the veterinary clinic, they call me back to come back and help them weigh him. I do so, and I also offer that if they can’t get him sedated or need more help with him that I can stick around and help them. The assistant with very short black hair Said that she would know if she needs help sedating him within 20 or 30 minutes. I stuck around in the parking lot in my car for 15 minutes. Didn’t receive any call or anything so I went back home. At 12:30 I missed a call which I wasn’t able to respond to until about 2:30 PM. When I call back, they notified me that they’ve had my cat all day and haven’t done anything with him, so basically he’s just been sitting in the facility, in a fear and anxiety inducing environment. Instead of calling me earlier, they chose to wait five hours after figuring out they couldn’t sedate him, letting him be unnecessarily anxious. I go to the facility to pick up my cat, where some vet tech named kit tries to make it seem like it was ok that there was a five hour lapse in figuring out he couldn’t be serviced and calling me. She then proceeds to try to have a staring contest with me when i’m not accepting that as an answer… because you do NOT have that many animals to prevent ONE of you from LEAVING the room and telling the receptionist to call me to pick my cat up in FIVE HOURS. She kept trying to make excuses as to why i wasn’t called earlier than 12, ignoring the fact that the nurse/helper told me specifically 20/30 mins they’ll know if he can be sedated, and acting like the team did nothing wrong. She then tell me that every time someone walked by my cat he was lunging and hissing, which AGAIN was MULTIPLE opportunities to see that he wasn’t gonna be able to get serviced today and to have somebody tell the receptionist to call me before the five hour mark of him being there not doing anything. I still don’t know if my point got across to her, because if the team doesn’t have AN OUNCE of brain to have the common sense to HAVE ANYONE tell the receptionist to call me to pick him up ASAP i highly doubt they even understood why they were wrong.

I brought my dog to Banfield Pet Hospital for four years, but over the past year the quality of care declined significantly. The staff turnover was noticeable, and my dog was seen by a different veterinarian almost every visit, making consistent treatment nearly impossible. For six months, I tried to get my dog’s ear and skin infections under control with little to no improvement. Communication was poor—there were no follow-ups, prescriptions were not properly managed, and the clinic felt disorganized. The final issue involved a compounded medication that was never properly followed through with. No one confirmed it was processed or shipped. When I tried to obtain the prescription to take elsewhere, I was refused assistance because the previous vet was unavailable. As a result, my dog went without needed medication and continued to suffer. That level of disregard is unacceptable. Basic compassion, communication, and accountability should be standard in any veterinary practice. I have since moved on to another clinic, where my dog’s condition was treated successfully within weeks. I strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options when it comes to their pet’s care.

Our experience at Banfield Lake Mary was fantastic. Special shoutout to Morgan (vet tech) and Dr. Hoblick for taking such great care of Wrigley during his surgery. Morgan was so sweet, very knowledgeable and answered any concerns we had regarding surgery. Super friendly and always smiling which made a stressful day for us a lot lighter. Dr. Hoblick went above and beyond taking care of our pup and giving us updates after surgery on how everything went. Highly recommend!

Took my 2 dogs here for some vaccines and a quick checkup. Quick in and out, reasonable price. Got their tags and paid within 90 minutes. Longest part of the visit was the wait after everything was done. Friendly employees !!!

I once praised this location. We have been going here for close to 20 years with our animals. Yesterday I made an appointment because it dogs back legs stopped working. 12 minutes before or appointment they called to see if we had given her the anxiety medication she takes (only when fireworks and regular doctors appointments). Because we hadn't, this was an emergency, they would not see her. Turns out when we took her to the urgent care they said giving her that med would have made her worse, it causes drowsiness. I will never go back here. When we needed them most they refused to see us.
