I got no help from them not one bit and wanted to claim it was because of the fleas why what was I supposed to do give the cat a shower beforehand?
I've took my fur baby fixed. Thinking this will be common but it was not for them. My baby got the surgery a week after she was still dripping blood. I called and told them It was a dime size hole that is not stitched. I was scheduled to come in 4 days after and was charged $600 + extra to put in staples for a job that was not done correctly the first time. The guy that was performing the surgery was tried to tell me I have to do the surgery over and tried to charge me $1000 which I knew they was trying to rip me off because the surgery was done and needed to fix the cut that they made. Then he was speaking to his coworker in front of me in Spanish saying if they don't do the surgery over that my baby will not make it alive less than a week to try to get more money. Then when I answered back to they conversation in Spanish he was shocked and then saying the staples will work. I will never use them ever because I seen that they are not honest people.
Love this place for my dogs. Keep in mind the staff is getting the brunt of people worried about their pets. People that come to the vet are usually high emotion and this is what the front desk deals with day in and day out. I commend them for their professionalism. The techs and doctors have been equally fantastic and caring. Give this place a chance and remember they are dealing with sick furbabies everyday and they are there to help.

I’ve got to be honest, but I’m a little bummed I need to leave this review. My pets have had wellness plans for 10+ years. I have 5 cats and 2 dogs, all on wellness plans. Having so many pets, I became a regular. Let me start by saying that Dr. Rossy and Dr. Urbina are fantastic. Many of the vet techs and desk clerks we have worked with over the years are great. Mia, Brandi, Melissa being a few of our favorites.
The problem that I’m facing is that there has been a LOT of staff turnover at this location. Nowadays, every time you go to Banfield, there is a new staff member at the desk and a new vet techs in the back. While Dr. Rossy and Dr. Urbina are great, they can only work so many hours during the week and Banfield has failed to find another wonderful vet to schedule in their off hours. They often pull vets from other local offices to cover their days off or you get Dr. Shelton who is sweet, but her recommended treatment plans are dated and unconventional for the average pet owner. (Ex: Using a human douche on your dog for a UTI, rather than just giving you an oral medication for treatment.)
Here’s where the bad review comes in, there must be some corporate nonsense going on or management issues. When it comes to medical care, people want to build a rapport with their providers to establish trust. I want to be able to walk into the office with my dogs and staff recognize them by name saying “ohhh… what did Benjamin get into this time?” then we share a laugh about whatever he’s gotten into. You can’t have that if there’s someone different in the office every time…
This being said, this is no disrespect to the new people that they hire. The staff are great! Staff retention is the issue here and that is a reflection of upper management.
Unfortunately, I’m working to gradually discontinue our wellness plans because the location is no longer convenient for our schedules and the quality of care we get nowadays isn’t worth the commute. (Substitute Vets, new faces at the desk, new vet techs.) Consistent staffing is key and corporate needs to take note. Business is being lost because of whatever is going on behind closed doors.

Similar to what another review said - if I could leave 0 stars, I would.
I brought my cat who was struggling to breathe in, and while they took her in an appropriate amount of time, what followed genuinely left me feeling heartbroken and frustrated.
They originally quoted me around 550 for X-rays and for the visit, which I agreed to. I even verbally confirmed that this was the total after taxes, and was reconfirmed this.
And I do want to state that the front desk staff were very nice and welcoming, and that my issues no way stem from their actions or behavior.
After they took my cat in, Dr. Shelton came in and her tone was very demeaning. I am sitting there absolutely sobbing having a panic attack as she tells me that I need to take her to a 24 hr hospital and that this isn’t the right place for her. I am sitting there sobbing without a clue of what to do, and keep asking what specifically in her medical opinion I should do. Instead of referring me to a clinic, she tells me to open Google Maps and just sits there saying yes and no as I am trembling reading out names of other hospitals in the area, until eventually she brings out a slip of paper of nearby 24hr hospitals, which am so confused on why she didn’t do so in the first place??? Even has the nerve to crack a joke during this when asking about transportation and that it’s crucial for my cat to have AC. “Well that’s good- for you and for the cat, haha” As I am, and let me firmly reiterate, shaking and sobbing at the inference that my cat is on deaths door and I must take her somewhere else ASAP.
And to top it all off, someone I assume is a vet tech came into the room to notify Dr. Shelton that she found Expired Medication (!) in the back and if she wanted to use it on my cat. Now I know that expired medication is just a reference date required by manufactures to be put on there, and that it was most likely safe to use. However, I know that is not common knowledge, and they had no way of knowing that I was aware of that. So to walk into a room with a critical patients owner crying and to announce that you would be giving their pet expired medication is so unprofessional! They didn’t even elaborate that it would be safe to use either to me, it was entirely a conversation I, the owner, was left out of.
When I am finally told to go to the front to checkout, I am quoted for around 230 for the visit. I assumed at the time it wasn’t as expensive as originally quoted because they couldn’t provide proper care and she was being referred elsewhere. But no! In actuality, they forgot to add on the X-rays, and I ended up being charged $646.27. Which was way over the around 580 I was originally told and was reaffirmed that that was a post tax and fee total!
Finally, I went to AVS off wells, and they were so so so incredibly helpful and kind. They diagnosed her with Cat Asthma and I was sent home with medication and service charges totaling out to UNDER $400, and out in around 1hr 1/2 or so. They even took new X-rays free of charge because Banfield’s X-rays that they sent over were too low quality to actually determine anything!
So could someone please tell me - am I simply ignorant to what Banfield is? Because you would think with the name “Banfield Pet HOSPITAL” that they would be capable of caring for animals instead of charging people $650 dollars to take their pets elsewhere. Will never be back here again.
