The Davie-Pine island location is amazing.
I really wish that I went to them a lot sooner I didn’t discover them until the last three months of my elderly pet who was in my life my best friend, my everything from the doctors to the receptionist to the nurses I had not met one provider there that did not take care of her as if she was their own they put me in such ease that when she passed on her 19th birthday day they were all amazing and patient with me and my family. And after she passed, I received the sweetest note from the staff with her paw print in the card. The other location that I went to that was five minutes from me didn’t do that with my other dog passed away, and I will recommend this location to anyone.

Ashley the manager told me they can't use comprehensive bloodwork done just 3 days prior to get approved for a dental cleaning because it wasn't done at their location. They want to charge full price to duplicate that test. This is completely unheard of. I feel terrible for anyone who figures this out during an exam and has to choose between losing their $73 exam fee or paying hundreds of dollars for a duplicate test.

I unfortunately would not recommend using banfield for their optimum wellness plan. I had several issues with them regarding the plan, and therefore opted not to renew with them.
First—things you think would be included in preventative care wellness for animals were not. Prepare to be charged (nickel and dimed) for anything like nail trimmings or anal gland expressions.
Next, I paid for a neuter—which I never did because they were trying to charge me extra. I originally scheduled my dog’s neuter and banfield called me and canceled because their vet was no longer available to do the surgery (this cancelation was completely on banfield, I was ready to bring him in). What the egregious part was—when I was ready to reschedule they wanted to charge me for additional bloodwork (bc now it was over 2 weeks from his last bloodwork). How ridiculous. I was told the manager was going to call me back to discuss, but she never did. I also asked to speak to vet regarding the issue, and was told the vet had no say in this by the person who answered my phone call. That itself let me know what kind of practice this was.
Another thing I hated, they do all the dog exams and administer shots in the back where you can’t even be with your pet. Scares me to know what could be going on back there without you to see it.
The optimum wellness plan really doesn’t end up saving you any money at all. It’s just a ploy to get your money. You can find lower cost vets and fill medications at cheaper places (Costco was much cheaper for flea and tick medicine)

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
