The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because I understand that this is not the fault of every stylist there…. Just the person who handled my dog.
When my dog went the first time she loved it, and left so happy, and clean. So clearly in my mind that meant I could take her back with no issues. At that point I was able to bathe her, get her into water, she wasn’t scared of certain noises, and I could do her ears, and paw pads on my own. (Which was huge to us as pet parents, because when we got her she was clearly mistreated, and she was very skittish of everything, so to have her be okay with not only letting us pamper her, but letting others pamper her was a huge milestone for us)
After our most recent visit, she is terrified. If I try to bathe her, towel dry her, clean her ears, or attempt to put balm on her paws, she shakes uncontrollably. I got rid of my hair dryer because after our visit I can’t use it without her cowering or hiding. The woman who performed our service was rude to my fiancé and I multiple times, and honestly if it wasn’t for Robin taking her time to try to fix the situation, and alerting management to the issue, I probably would have cussed her out when I picked my dog up. Also the services I paid for weren’t even properly done, or we completely skipped, and I could hear her yowling in the back from the cash register. (If it wasn’t for my fiancé, I probably would have caused a scene)
I left that day in tears of frustration once I got my dog, because she just looked scared, and she wouldn’t leave my lap the whole way home (She loves car rides, so this is not normal behavior for her). I am not going to use them again, because I can’t imagine what happened to my dog during that appointment that would cause her to regress this much.
Also if you are going to use them don’t use Jackie, and if you are already on her books, I beg you, please reschedule with someone else.

I have been a member of the old Petco Vital Care program for 12 years. I had 3 dogs each on their own plan. With the change from the Rewards $ to the Reward points, my account has not been correct. The first time I used the new rewards, only 1 of my 3 dogs had the rewards. I was told to write down my info & the store manager would call Corp on Mon & then call me. Never got a phone call from the manager. 2nd trip, same issue - had to have a mgr override the free items for 2 dogs, 3rd trip my cashier (I wish I remembered her name) called Corp with me at the register, 1st they said everything was right - then put her on hold, came back & admitted my account was wrong. However, it wasn’t fixed. I was just in on Friday & guess what, my account still wasn’t fixed. A manager had to come up & discount items.
As I said, 12 years, appointments every 2 wks, adding 2 more dogs… so we paid $54/month for the vital care, the remaining balance for nail buffing, +$30-40 tip to our groomer each visit.
I just turned off all renewals on my Vital Care.
Sad, how such a great grooming salon & program turned to crap with corporate changes.
I wish their district manager, Jen would be made aware of these issues, but they’ve lost a loyal owner & 3 basset hounds due to such poor customer service.
I’ll drive further to go to PetSmart.
