Our previous vet, Dr. Stiltner, recently left this practice for another company. But as we've had nothing but good experiences for the last three years, we decided to continue to take our cats there. However, as of today, that is no longer true. We saw Dr. James Anderson today, and he was the opposite of everything we have come to expect from Banfield. He did our cat Jack's exam in the back room and only spoke with us to tell us, quite brusquely, that Jack has dental resorption and will need multiple teeth extractions. No discussion of anything else, despite it being an annual exam. For Sophie, he did the "exam" in the normal exam room with us present, but it can barely be counted as an exam. He looked at her teeth, announced she has mild gingivitis and no dental resorption, and then brushed her back with a flea comb without telling us why. He declared "she doesn't groom herself" and when I explained that we try to brush her but she only lets us do it in tiny doses, he prescribed her gabapentin and that was that. He didn't look at her eyes or ears, he didn't listen to her heart or check her respiration, he didn't take her temperature, he didn't even weigh her! We had to ask the veterinary assistant to weigh her so we could be sure we were ordering the right dose of Revolution Plus. (And to be clear - the veterinary assistant was wonderful, none of this was her fault.) I can only assume that Jack got the same lack of care, since he has absolutely no documentation in his MyBanfield account - just a generic copy/paste about dental problems and obesity (we weren't told he was obese! We're not even sure he really is or if he's just overweight!) without any information on vital signs or any other indication that a full exam was completed. As soon as we got home, I immediately got on the phone with our old vet's new practice and made an appointment for tomorrow so we can have a real exam by a real vet. I am furious at the fact that we have just unnecessarily stressed our cats and paid $151.00 for this sad excuse of a vet visit, and you can be assured that this is the last time we will be taking our cats to this vet.

They insist on dropping off between 7-7:30 but then make you wait to even take the dogs. People have to work. Why are you making people wait? If we have to be there for the drop off then be ready to take the dogs back? I wasn’t the only person that had to say something this morning.

Terrible communication and unprofessional behavior by the vet on shift. I believe his name was Dr. Johnson. My dog had a 7:45 AM tooth cleaning appointment and we were the first dog to check in. The doctor called after the bloodwork was done at 8:50 AM and said everything was good to go. I assumed when he said they were going to put her under that meant right away but instead they kept her in the back for four hours and did all the other dogs first while my dog waited. Now the doctor tried to say it was because the other dogs needed extractions so they went first and that’s a bunch of crap! I am escalating this to corporate like I told the doctor because when I called and asked how long the procedure was going to take they said 3 1/2 to 4 hours. And this is going to end up being almost 8 hours for an 11-year-old dog who has never been kept in a cage and hate being confined. The doctor trying to excuse it and explain it away was probably the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever experienced take your business to a different Banfield even though they’re all the same this Dr does not deserve your business! You are a terrible veterinarian!!!!

Took my dog to this location on two separate occasions with a specific concern. I told them that on one of my dogs teeth the calculus is brown when I go to clean and when I floss between his two teeth it bleeds. Both times they told me it was normal calculus and he was fine. Now a couple months/hundreds of dollars later and the tooth is wiggling when I clean and needs to be pulled at another location. The people here either didn't care enough to do their, didn't know how to do their job, or intentionally harmed my dog so I would come back and give them money to pull the tooth.

This hospital and staff are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond for all four of my dogs and truly treat them like family. Dr. Johnson is by far the best veterinarian — he always takes the time to answer all of my questions, never makes me feel rushed, and treats my dogs as if they were his own. Tori and Robin are equally wonderful; they are kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, and they always make each visit a positive experience. The entire team is professional, compassionate, and thorough, and I am so grateful to have a veterinary hospital I completely trust with my dogs.
