Our experience with Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists was during one of the hardest days of our lives. When our beloved boxer, Hank, suffered a sudden cardiac event, the team responded with urgency, professionalism, and genuine compassion. Despite every effort to save him, we ultimately lost Hank, but we will always be grateful for the care he received and the kindness shown to us during such a devastating time. The doctors and staff treated Hank with dignity and treated us with empathy when we needed it most. They took the time to explain what was happening, answered our questions, and supported us through an unimaginable situation. No pet owner ever wants to find themselves in those circumstances, but if you do, you want a team that cares as much as they do. We are deeply thankful for the efforts they made for Hank and for the compassion they showed our family.

Appreciate the time and care they’ve given our Yorkie Daniel. It was our first visit and probably won’t be the last. Had an early Saturday appointment and was surprised to see all the staff in a very cheerful mood. The tech was friendly and wonderful. The doctor, don’t have her name at the moment, was very thorough and made sure Daniel will be fine. Thank you!

Requested copy of my dog’s radiology report for which I paid. Was told by office staff it is policy that they do not release. I was directed to read the 3 line copy & paste inserted in SWFL Veterinary Specialists ER report. Asked to speak to manager and front desk & staff said they would certainly leave a message as she, too, did not understand why I could not have a document for which I paid. This was 4/22/26. No return call from ZULIE the manager. Placed 2 additional calls over the next month and both times was told a message would be left for manager and both staff apologized there was no return call. One of my conversations was with Dr. Judith Meriwether, DVM who was excellent with our dog (she gets 5 stars) and she also stated she was leaving a message for manager. On 5/20/26 ZULIE returned my call and denied receiving any messages from her staff including Dr. Meriwether which I do not believe at all. It is highly unlikely & insulting to her staff to imply that these caring professionals all are either incapable of passing a message or all conspired to not give her a message. ZULIE is a liar and after speaking over me to tell me I must have misunderstood her when she said no one gave her the message she became irritated that I raised my voice to shut down her narrative and would not email me the report, instead she directed me to come in and pick it up. My husband is there now to get a report we should’ve had a month ago for a second opinion and insurance purposes. In a nutshell, the direct care staff are great but whoever owns this place should take a look into ZULIE.

Southwest Florida Veterinary Specialists are always a pleasure to work with. They are prompt, accommodating, courteous, and kind. This is extremely important during stressful times when the health of your pet is up in the air. From front desk staff to vet techs, interns and doctors, everyone works as part of a well oiled machine to take care of our pet babies.

I have to give it a 5. We took Hank there this morning because at less than 2 years old, he was unsteady on his feet and wouldn't drink milk. That's not Hank He's less than 2 years old! We took him into the office on old 41 and he perked up instantly because there was another dog there. The doctor took a look at him and said he probably ate something bad but his vital signs were perfect. He was cured simply by walking though the door👍😉 But it's still cost 2 beans. ($200.00 for those folks that don't understand Brooklynese... Fughettaboutit!)
