  Extremely Disappointing Experience at Petco My recent experience at Petco was absolutely terrible, and unfortunately, it will be my last visit. I arrived at 11:50 a.m. for my dogs’ 12:00 p.m. grooming appointment. I was told that I would need to come back at the appointment time because the groomer had not arrived yet. We walked around the store and returned at 12:00, only to be told that the groomer still wasn’t there, although the employee said she would check us in. When we were leaving around 12:15, I watched the groomer walk in the door. At 3:45 p.m., I returned to check on my dogs because I had not received any communication. The employee who had checked us in was extremely rude and unprofessional. She continued looking at the computer and said, “Are you here checking on your dogs?” I responded, “I sure am.” She then said, “Well, like I told you, you will receive a text or phone call when they are finished.” She never even looked at me while speaking to me. I was extremely uncomfortable with the interaction. I didn’t want to ask any more questions or upset her because my puppies were in their care, and I certainly didn’t want to risk them being treated poorly or having their grooming delayed even further. So, I simply left. At approximately 4:00 p.m., I watched the groomer bring Gryffin out and begin cutting him. At that point, I still had no idea whether Theodore had even been started. I sat in the store for another 45 minutes before eventually going to my car. At 5:00 p.m., I returned again. A gentleman working in the store asked for my dogs’ names and offered to check on them. He came back and told me they were just finishing Gryffin and that Theodore had only been bathed and had not even been started yet. This was FIVE HOURS after our scheduled appointment. I was extremely upset and frustrated, especially because I was missing my nephew’s 5:00 p.m. birthday party because I was sitting around waiting for my dogs with absolutely no communication about what was happening. I asked to take Theodore home before they started grooming him. The gentleman was kind enough to give me 50% off Gryffin’s grooming, which I appreciated. However, I still had to pay for a bath for Theodore, even with a discount. When I finally got Theodore home, I was extremely disappointed with how he looked. His sanitary area had been shaved, and the overall result was not what I expected or wanted. I am now going to have to find another groomer. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that communication could have made a huge difference. If someone had simply told me at 3:45 that my dogs had not even been started yet, I would have been upset, but at least I would have had the information I needed to make a decision. Instead, I spent hours sitting around not knowing whether my dogs would be ready in 15 minutes or three more hours. I pay for the Petco rewards program and have been a paying customer, but after this experience, I will not be returning to Petco for grooming services. The lack of communication, the unprofessional attitude, the excessive wait time, and the grooming results were all extremely disappointing. My dogs’ time and well-being are important to me, and I expect much better customer service when I am trusting someone with my pets.

  I am always happy with my fur baby when she returns after a bath and nail trim. Ava provides friendly exceptional service.

  My 9 year old baby girl has never been to a groomer so she was a bit nervous. AJ did such a wonderful job with her! She had a fabulous bath and her nails have never looked better! Incredibly happy with the entire experience! We will definitely continue coming back to see AJ!
