- MMMeronAug 8, 20262.0I’m a regular customer at this Petco and was very disappointed by my experience with the general manager, Morris, this morning. Before 9:00 a.m., I entered the store after seeing a grooming customer being allowed inside. The cashier explained that the store officially opens at 9:00 a.m., and when I asked if I could look around until opening, he kindly gave me permission. I want to clarify that the cashier was polite and helpful throughout the interaction. My concern is specifically with how the general manager handled the situation. A few minutes later, Morris approached me in a confrontational manner and insisted that I leave. When I explained that the cashier had given me permission to stay, Morris questioned the cashier in front of me, asking him if he allowed me and gave me permission? I understand that stores have opening policies, but I should not have been treated disrespectfully when I was simply following an employee’s instructions. I also found it concerning that grooming customers were permitted inside before opening while I was told to leave. Because of this interaction, I left with only the cat food I needed instead of completing my shopping. I hope Petco reviews this incident and addresses how customers are treated, particularly by store management.
