  I have to say I was really disappointed with my Petco experience. The product I got was $7 more at Petco then at Petsmart or on Amazon, for no reason. The store was less clean, it was outdated + the staff did not go above + beyond in anyway. If you are going to have prices that much higher then your competitors, then you need to have a reason. There is a Petsmart down the street from this location charging far less for the same exact products.

  The store didn't have the ear flaps & charged $16 for one grooming glove. The associates were very nice & helpful

  I typically go the Petco in Wallingford because it's closer to me. But I was in the North Haven area & badly needed dog food. I get Taste of the Wild for my 3 year old Boxer & 4 year old Pitbull/Lab mix. Since there are different flavors of the same brand, I like to switch it up a little for them. I also include other natural essential food elements in their food. But when I changed the flavor that day, I didn't realize the very very small print at the bottom of the bag that said "Puppy." And any good dog owner knows, if you switch their food, they will get diarrhea, especially with puppy food which contains fats & other added nutrients. Needless to say I didn't see it, got home, started putting the bag of food out in their dishes & immediately noticed the kibble was completely different in color & size & I realized the massive mistake I made. And especially since that was the last $60 I had to my name, I was really upset with myself. Anyway so I took a chance and looked online to see if Petco would take back an open bag of dog food. It said they might and to just call. So I did. I talked to Matt who was incredibly understanding. He said no problem come on down & we will take care of you. I can't begin to thank you guys enough for letting me exchange the incorrect bag for the correct bag. My dogs are like my kids & I was in a difficult position & Petco came thru. Can't thank you guys enough.
