  If I could give less than one star, I would. I switched to Banfield Pet Hospital in Manchester from Fenton River Veterinary Hospital after getting our second kitten because the appointments were more affordable for our budget at the time. Unfortunately, after our experiences there, I deeply regret that decision. Before coming to Banfield, neither of my cats had ever shown fear or anxiety at the veterinarian. After their visits, both of my cats became noticeably fearful of vet appointments. When I brought this concern up, I was told that this was “normal” and that I should give them gabapentin before future visits. I found this very concerning because I had never needed to do this with either of my cats before. During one appointment, Banfield told me that one of my cats had a heart murmur. She had previously been seen at Fenton River, and there had never been any indication of a heart murmur. I took her to a new veterinarian in Manchester for a second opinion, and they also did not detect a murmur. They explained that a murmur-like sound can sometimes occur temporarily if too much pressure is applied while listening over the sternum. While I was relieved that my cat did not have a heart issue, it was extremely upsetting to think that this concern may have been caused by the way she was handled during her exam. What stood out even more was the difference in her behavior at the new veterinary office. After bringing her to a new vet in Manchester, she had absolutely no issues being there. She was comfortable, accepted treats, handled her appointment well, and we actually had a difficult time getting her to leave because she seemed so happy and comfortable. This was the same cat who had become fearful after her experiences at Banfield, which made me question the way my pets were being handled during their visits there. After having one of my cats neutered at Banfield, his behavior also changed significantly. He became much more skittish, fearful of people, and less comfortable being approached. While I cannot say with certainty what caused this change, it is difficult not to question whether his experience there contributed to it. One of my biggest concerns throughout our visits was that I repeatedly requested to be present in the room during my pets’ appointments. My requests were disregarded, and my pets were taken away from me and brought back afterward. As a pet owner, I believe I should have a say in how my animals are handled and should be allowed to be present whenever possible. I do not recommend Banfield Pet Hospital in Manchester. The lack of trust, the changes I saw in my pets’ behavior, and the overall experience left me extremely disappointed. I would encourage other pet owners to carefully consider where they bring their animals for care.

  I just wanted to take a moment to express how grateful I am for the amazing team at Banfield Pet Hospital in Manchester. Every visit has been a wonderful experience because of how kind, professional, and compassionate everyone is. A special thank you to Omar, the veterinary technician, who went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed. He took the time to answer all of my questions, explained things clearly, and made sure both my pet and I felt comfortable throughout the entire visit. His knowledge, patience, and genuine care truly stood out and made a lasting impression. I also want to recognize the entire staff, who are always welcoming, friendly, and attentive. It’s clear that everyone works together as a team and truly cares about the well-being of every pet that comes through the door. Finally, I would like to thank the Practice Manager for her exceptional leadership and support. She is incredibly helpful, approachable, and always willing to assist with any questions or concerns. Her dedication to both the clients and the staff is evident, and it creates such a positive, caring environment. It is not easy to find a veterinary team that consistently provides such outstanding care and customer service, but Banfield Manchester does exactly that. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional veterinary care. Thank you all for everything you do for our pets and their families!
