  This is for the groomers not the store itself. I’ve taken my dog here for years and the last 2 times my husband took him, he has been given attitude. This time May 25th, He was told our CORGI is “too old” he’s 11. And the groomer refused to brush his teeth because she was afraid of him and he barked at another dog, which is what DOGS do! Our dog has never nipped anyone or I would have been told. And because of this we were told by the manager we are banned/not welcome from coming again. My husband had brought updated vaccine paperwork the previous time, which should have been filed and updated on their end and he was hassled for that too. Each time I had come here no one has mentioned our dog’s age or temperament and now suddenly when my husband does it he is scolded for this. We will not be coming back to this location as they did a terrible job trimming his nails as well.

  Went for a new collar for my dog, not much to choose from. Not a lot on the shelves. But plenty of other things to shop for.

  Unfortunately I will not be able to continue using Petco Clinton CT for grooming. The groomers they had are no longer there and the new replacements are inexperienced. My dog does not like his nails clipped however I’ve never had issues with the previous groomers.

  Horrible customer service, and animal neglect/abuse. The fish tanks had more dead fish than living ones, and the living ones were left in the tank with the decaying ones, and were eating them out of starvation. I counted that each tank had 3-5 dead fish, left there decaying. When I voiced my concerns with the staff, the cashier Jocelyn was hostile and rude to me, stating that they were aware of the animal abuse and that the fish die everyday there. Concerned by this, I spoke to a manager about the incident, who was seemingly unfazed by the animal cruelty as well. During my conversation with the manager, Jocelyn continued to be rude and mock me, and when I said I would be writing a review about the incident she yelled at me. The manager allowed this behavior, did nothing, and allowed Jocelyn to remain at the register while being loud and disrespectful to paying customers. As an animal lover, I was disgusted by the blatant lack of empathy and respect for the animals, and appalled by the customer service. Petco, please do better. Imagine being starved and forced to live in a small enclosure with rotting corpses. It’s inhumane. It’s cruel. It’s unsanitary. It’s unacceptable. Complete and total lack of management, paying customers do not deserve to be disrespected simply for speaking up for animals who can’t speak for themselves. To be aware of animal abuse/neglect and to do nothing about it speaks volumes. If you don’t respect animals, you shouldn’t be trusted to care for them, much less paid to do so. I have reached out to the corporate office about the incident, they informed me an investigation will be conducted. Still deeply upset by this incident. Definitely not a family friendly store/environment.
