We had been blessed with our boo bear cat Benny for 9 years after his rescue. He was popular and would walk around the park by our side like a grown dog as people would record. He was the sweetest cat and would only prefer to drink from the bathtub water because he was too big for the sink. He would steal our people food and think he was slick. He crossed the rainbow bridge today and the staff were a huge support to him and to us to try everything in our power to save him but it was his time. We love you boo boo I couldn’t have chosen a better doctor. Dr Marano was so patient with us, answered a 1000 questions and respected our budget and decisions. If your reading this thank you Doctor for being so great to our family.
Yeah this place is absolutely unprofessional. I don't even understand why it's even as high rated as it is. We we went here recently after a nearby vet told us this place was for emergencies and while they did immediately treat our cat who was gravely ill, the person at the front desk was super rude. Our cat had passed away, we were grieving, crying, my mom even began to hyperventilate, that man just kept pushing us to pay for the visit and check up. We kept telling we had no money, we literally had nothing on us from paying bills that week, I'm seeking employment, and my brother who lives away had to euthanize his own dog, no, we had to pay or they would send us to collections. It was basically a threat. In the end, I had to talk to him about a payment plan, he seemed frustrated and even laughed at one point when I had him explain and I was still distressed. After I called my brother who has a good credit score, he was really hesitant to do anything because another cat in the past of ours got sick and put him in debt, the guy at the front desk overheard the conversation, and then he was still rude about it and gave his opinion like he knew what he dealt with before. Absolutely terrible. We're never coming here again. Oh by the way, there was another lady who brought a pet there who was there too who was also annoyed as well, so I can tell this is frequent occurrence. If there's anything I've understood with dealing with medics it's that they lack sympathy and don't care about other people or their circumstances. It's no wonder people who are ill would prefer to brute force it or just die than deal with any of these people

One star. I was extremely disappointed with our experience at Northside Emergency Pet Clinic. We spent over five hours waiting while my dog, Emma Rose, was actively bleeding from her nose. Watching her bleed on the ER floor and being told she wasn't critical was heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating. After hours of waiting, the diagnostics were a very brief X-ray and sedation to look into her nose, but they didn't find a cause. The bill was over a thousand dollars. What upset me most was being told that antibiotics, nearly 300 dollars, wouldn't be provided until they confirmed I could pay. I sought a second opinion afterward, and the difference in care, communication, and compassion was dramatic. I understand emergency care is expensive, but I expected timely attention, clear communication, and a greater sense of urgency. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling unsupported and disappointed.

There are truly no words to express how grateful I am for the entire team.
When Bella, my 12-year-old dog, came in with a life-threatening emergency, every single person treated her with urgency, compassion, and kindness. They listened to my concerns, acted quickly, and kept me informed throughout one of the scariest moments of my life.
Dr. Bruzon performed Bella’s emergency surgery, and I immediately knew she was in the best hands. From the moment Bella was taken to the back, I felt a sense of peace knowing this team was caring for her. As a nurse, I pay close attention to the details, and Bella’s incision and recovery have been absolutely incredible. You can tell how much skill and care went into her surgery.
The pathology ultimately showed that Bella had an enormous splenic hematoma weighing around 2–3 pounds. The previous veterinarian I took her to told me there was only a 20% chance it was a hematoma and that it was more likely hemangiosarcoma (HSA), and that I would have to wait for surgery. Knowing Bella was actively bleeding internally, I couldn’t accept waiting. I immediately took her to Northside, and thanks to this team’s quick action, she was given a second chance at life. Watching her recover has been nothing short of amazing.
Emergency veterinary medicine is not an easy job, and I know your team sees families on some of the hardest days of their lives. Thank you for treating Bella as if she were your own and for giving me hope when I needed it most.
I will never forget the compassion, professionalism, and exceptional care we received. Because of all of you, Bella gets to enjoy more walks, more adventures, and more time with the people who love her.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
