  Our visit to Snow Buddy Sled Dog Adventures in March 2026 was nothing short of amazing. If you are looking for a unique, safe, and heart-warming winter activity, this is absolutely it. The Stars of the Show: The Dogs What makes this experience truly special is that the dogs are rescues from shelters. Knowing that the team is giving these incredible animals a second life and a job they clearly love is "tip top" in our book. All the dogs were healthy, full of energy, and so happy to greet us. The Experience It is definitely a family-friendly trip. While the dogs give an energetic pull right at the start, the ride quickly settles into a very smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable journey through the snow. We felt secure and well taken care of the entire time. World-Class Hospitality Sarah was incredibly kind and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. She really goes above and beyond to make the atmosphere feel like home. The "Secret Weapon" Do not skip the treats! The hot chocolate comes with a generous mountain of marshmallows, and the fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies (made with Sarah’s special recipe) were the perfect way to warm up. Bottom Line: This is a trip you simply can’t miss if you're in the area. We highly recommend Snow Buddy Sled Dog Adventures to everyone!

  Our Snow Buddys Dog Sled tour truly was the highlight of our trip to Steamboat. From the moment we scheduled our outing until we were safely returned to our cozy condo, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of amazing! Due to a lack of snow during the spring break period, we had to make our way higher up into the mountains to find a suitable area for the dogs to run. The journey took us to a stunning state park, surrounded by beautiful Aspen trees and breathtaking landscapes, which added to the overall magic of the experience. As first-time dog sledders in Steamboat, we didn’t know what to expect, but this excursion exceeded all of our hopes. The dogs, who were not only healthy but also incredibly friendly, greeted us as long-lost friends upon our arrival. I loved how they wandered around, so excited, anticipating the run. It was heartwarming to see such happy, well-cared-for animals ready to hit the trail. Having a photographer join us was a fabulous bonus. He captured some incredible moments on camera, allowing us to focus on the experience rather than worrying about taking pictures. We ended up with some beautiful shots that perfectly documented our adventure, and I’ve decided they’ll be the highlight of our Christmas card this year! One of the best surprises was when we made a stop at the top of the mountain. To our amazement, we found a cozy tent set up, allowing us to warm up after the exciting ride. Inside, we enjoyed an assortment of fancy hot chocolates, hot apple cider, and a coffee bar, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on a wood stove. The warm treats were the perfect indulgence after our adventure in the cold. The highlight of this unexpected stop, however, was all the playful dogs running around the tent, eagerly jumping for marshmallows that we tossed to them. It was such a joyful sight, and I wish I had captured that moment in a picture! Snow Buddies really thought of everything for our outing. They provided us with ski pants, boots, gloves, and hats, ensuring we were well-equipped. They even had backup gear for anything we might have forgotten. The mushing lessons we received before we set off were thorough and informative, preparing us well for our roles as sled drivers. The dogs were exceptionally well-trained and seemed to know exactly what to do, making it a seamless experience even for us, who were complete rookies at the helm. The funniest moment was when our lead dogs looked back at our rookie musher, and it felt like they were thinking, "This is where you are supposed to help!" All in all, the dog sledding adventure with Snow Buddies was an unforgettable experience that we will cherish for years to come. Each moment was filled with excitement, joy, and a sense of connection to the beautiful winter landscape and the wonderful dogs who guided us through it. We highly recommend them for an unforgettable experience.

  A friend and I recently had the opportunity to take a Learn-to-Mush class with Snow Buddy Dog Sled Tours and it was an unforgettable adventure! The owner and guides made us feel at home and excited about what was ahead. They were knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the whole process and took the time to explain the basics of dog sledding, from harnessing the dogs to safely navigating the sled. They were always ready to answer questions, offer encouragement, and ensure everyone felt comfortable on the sled. The dogs themselves were strong, eager, and full of personality. It’s clear they’re well-cared for and love what they do. The excitement in their eyes as they pulled us through the trails was contagious, and there’s something magical about the bond between the dogs and their musher; I felt like I was part of their team as they worked to pull us across the snow. The trail was breathtaking, with scenic views that made the whole experience feel like something out of a winter wonderland. My friend rode in the sled while I mushed and she was able to capture some spectacular photos. Overall, the Learn-to-Mush experience was a fantastic way to try something new and connect with nature in a unique way -- I can’t recommend this experience enough. The passion of the owner and guides, combined with the energy of the sled dogs, created a one-of-a-kind experience that my friend and I will never forget. We would definitely do it again!

  I bought this trip for my 25-year-old daughter and boyfriend for her birthday present on our ski trip to Steamboat. She’s always wanted to go dog sledding and this seemed a perfect opportunity to do so. I’m so glad we did!! They had the best time, Even though they are diehard skiers this was the highlight of the whole trip for them. My daughter fell in love with the dogs and would love to come back and adopt one at some point. Everyone was so kind and fun and the dogs were amazing. My husband and I are disappointed we didn’t go with them!! Don’t make the same mistake! :)

  Absolutely a great experience. 10 out of 10. The dogs were the stars but it was Sarah and the crew that made the experience so special. We will be back for sure!
