Brandon is terrible. Does not know what he’s doing. Told us last night we couldn’t adopt an animal for 24 hours so we filled out the paper work. Today when we went to get the animal it was gone due to “paperwork missing 1 signature” so they gave it to someone else. If it was a signature issue they would’ve just asked us to sign. Total idiots working there would go anywhere else and do not listen to what Brandon says he’s clueless. Upright rude about everything from the first minute

They never have crickets. Every time i’ve gone they don’t have crickets. I’ve gone on saturday, monday, Wednesday, friday. Never have crickets. I don’t even know why I keep coming to this petco. The only time they’ve been able to help me was when they had the cricket shipment in but they didn’t want to set them out, one lady was nice enough to change the sign and go back and get someone to do. I ended up wandering the store for about 20-30 minutes with an unhappy 6 year old who was expecting an in and out trip.

My pup has been going to this location for grooming for years! Mandi is the best and knows exactly how I like him cut. He doesn't even flinch when it's time to head to the back, because she takes such good care of him. Very clean store, friendly staff, and the best groomer around. 10/10!

I used to have really good experiences shopping here. One minute you have trust in a place and it can be lost in a single day. I needed large crickets and nobody was there to assist me with no crickets to go. I go to the cashier and she says out loud “can I help you with something” like a did something horribly wrong to ask for crickets. She doesn’t call anybody to help me find the crickets saying someone can help me.
I walk over to the crickets and it’s back to square one. I saw crickets. No one was there like the blonde cashier said. I finally had to look around the store to get assistance for crickets. I saw crickets only to be told by another employee that we are “out of crickets” when he didn’t even look. Being yelled at by the cashier with her not calling for sonebody to assist me with crickets. Finally, waiting for a long time ti be told “out of crickets” when there were crickets. Don’t worry, I will never shop another Petco again.
Oh yeah, I saw from a previous review at the Fort Collins location that a customer was regulated on how many crickets she can buy according to the Petco chain itself. Similar is that I adopt too many animals. I saw a friendly Green Bottle Blue Tarantula, but this person said to me in a rude voice that I was not allowed to purchase animals.
That’s fine. The customer that left the review on crickets because she was regulated won’t come back to Petco or any of their supply chains. I’ll just take her advice that I am not allowed to be treated like a customer and like a slave and NOT SHOP AT PETCO AT ALL!! But I am allowed to warn others about shopping at Petco. Like Sears, Montgomery Wards, and etc., Petco will be next to fall and YOU’LL REMEMBER WHY!!!!
Good buy to being a long time customer.

I really wanted to have a good experience here because the front desk staff was kind and welcoming, although the check-in process also felt a bit disorganized. Unfortunately, the rest of our visit left me feeling very uncomfortable, and I won’t be returning. Looking back, I wish I had taken the extra drive to my dog’s regular veterinarian, where I know he is comfortable and where I have confidence in the clinic’s standards.
During my dog’s heartworm test, the overall process felt disorganized. I personally did not see anyone perform hand hygiene before handling my dog, although it’s possible I simply missed it. What I did observe was blood being drawn without gloves. After the needle was removed, another staff member who was also not wearing gloves immediately applied direct pressure to my dog’s bleeding vein with his bare hand. As a registered nurse, watching direct pressure applied to a fresh venipuncture site with bare hands was extremely concerning from an infection control standpoint. How many animals has this staff member handled in a similar way prior to caring for my dog? How can I be sure his bare hands didn’t pass along anything infectious or dangerous to my own dog?
I also heard the provider performing the blood draw say, “Well, I went in blindly,” after the first unsuccessful attempt at the blood draw. From my perspective, there did not appear to be an effort to palpate or identify the vein before inserting the needle. Her first attempt was a dud, leaving both my dog and I with an unnecessary traumatic experience. If only she had taken 60 seconds to identify a proper vein to draw from….They also sprayed what I can only guess is lidocaine on the site immediately before attempting the blood draw without allowing what appeared to be enough time for it to take effect, which made me question why it was used at all. This practice can also introduce unnecessary chemicals venously, so why use it at all if you won’t give it the short time it needs to work and provide pain relief?
Staff also appeared unsure where basic supplies like gauze were located, with one staff member stating there was no gauze available and that they would use paper towels instead. The entire appointment felt rushed, disorganized, and did not inspire confidence. As an RN, I would personally never start a blood draw or IV without guaranteeing all necessary supplies are within my reach.
I understand veterinary medicine differs from human healthcare, and I truly appreciate that everyone was kind to both me and my dog. However, the infection control practices and overall organization I observed left me uncomfortable and worried about the quality of care my dog received. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
I truly thank you all for your kindness and compassion. I can’t imagine the stress of working in a busy vaccination clinic. I do, however, ask that you reconsider implementing standardized PPE use, consistent hand hygiene, and ensuring necessary supplies are readily available before procedures begin. But at the end of the day, being busy isn’t an excuse to stop practicing thoroughly and taking 20 seconds to wash your hands or put gloves on.
I do not believe this is a horrible place, and I understand not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford a personal veterinarian. My hope is simply that you reconsider your protocols and basic infection control practices, which protect not only your staff, but also every animal and every loving caregiver who trusts you with their pet.
