  Mom mother is moving to hospice and I needed to re-home her bird. This Petco accepted the parakeet and made the transition for my mother so much easier. Thank you!!

  I visit this store frequently, but unfortunately, I consistently experience poor customer service due to what appears to be a lack of employee training. During my visit today, I was checked out by an employee named Alina. While I understand the learning curve for new staff, the service was frustrating. For example, when checking my account, there was confusion regarding my phone number, which often requires an extra step to locate as I have two accounts under my number. Additionally, Alina scanned all 32 identical cans of dog food individually, which caused a long line to form. At other locations, cashiers typically scan one can and input the quantity. More broadly, I rarely see the same employees twice, and the staff often seem unsupported on the register. Unlike other Petco locations where the staff is welcoming and helpful, the environment at the Belmar store consistently feels impersonal and inefficient. I hope you will use this feedback to improve your onboarding and training processes so that your team feels better equipped to handle the register and assist customers.

  Been going here for years, but have been having terrible customer service. Multiple stores had rude associates. The final straw was I ordered food and the delivery date was two weeks away. Who orders food and can wait that long so I called the very next day and asked to cancel. It was not shipped or anything the agent said it was canceled. Then I get an email saying “sorry we couldn’t cancel it”. The thing is I was told it was and now I was charged and had to return the food. Very annoying so I tried to cancel my membership because I do not plan to go back and they made it very difficult to cancel and tried to tell me I couldn’t and when I told them I would cancel my card then they canceled it. After that I got an email stating my membership was canceled as of 6/30/27 I had to call again. They made it more difficult than it needed to be. I found a local pet store and a privately owned vet. These chains are the worst. I am not telling anyone to not come here but just wanted to share my experience.

  Called to see if they had a specific dog food before I drove across town. Lady on the phone told me they did.... well I drove 30 minutes for no reason. Why be lazy? Just go check!

  Since corporate doesn't care... They have stopped selling giant bettas labeled as "halfmoon kings" The issue is they're still using the halfmoon king cups they come in while charging the halfmoon king price. They're not even halfmoon normal bettas. This means petco is charging 25$ for their 4$-7$ dollar bettas. And yes they will charge you falsely
