I have been to planned pethood many times over the years. Dr Jeff's team gave me 1 more year with my beloved Jaeger who got bone cancer. They gave me 3 miraculous months with my soul mate Chach who was covered in internal tumors. They gave me 8 invaluable months with my big boy Diesel who had big mass affecting mobility and yesterday they performed a miracle surgery on my beloved Jack that may have never been done by any surgeon anywhere and on top of that also removed a huge tumor on the liver we didn't even know about. Why all these cancers in our beloved pets? I can not find an answer. But what i found is the most skilled and knowledgeable surgery team that gives miracles of time with the animals that are our family. They cap the surgery cost so you can have that last possible chance to help your fur babies and not have to lose them because you dont have zillions of dollars. Planned Pethood sacrifices the vast amount of money they could make on their miraculous skilled surgery so us, the lovers of all animals can have one more day, one more month one more year with our fur kids. The surgery they performed on Our beautiful husky Jack was rare and unusual. Then on top of that he also had a huge liver tumor. Im guessing with any other vet hospital I would have been quoted over 10k and they may have even said they couldn't do the rare surgery needed. I would have lost Jack because I dont have 10k in savings or could aquire such a high amount for a loan in a short amount of time. I would have lost Jack because no one else on the planet could have done the rare surgery Jack needed. How do you thank or pay forward someone that lets you have hope and the gift of time when the evil cancer won't go away? I do right by my animals but no matter what I do, or change or add i cant out run this stupid cancer. So to Dr Jeff and your whole team I send my love to you. There are no words that can properly express my gratitude. You are all miracle workers. I will donate as much and as often as I can until I am no longer to help keep your mission alive. Forever dedicated!

Normally, this vet is great. They have affordable pricing and provide good care to our animals. I had an emergency with one of our dogs, and they told me to show up at 9am on Saturday. It is now 9:32, and we’re still waiting outside by the Emergency sign. Please don’t tell your patients to show up at a given time when you don’t even open your door. We drove for two hours.

Everyone was wonderful! I drove from Fort Collins for their service. I was so worried about my babies and wanted to get them in ASAP. They said they had an appointment cancellation and could get me in today. Not only did they allow me to come in earlier when I arrived earlier but they got me seen and out the door with good news before my actual appointment time started. I do NOT feel this should be taken advantage of or expected but, it sure was nice I didn’t have to sit in the parking lot with my cats for an hour or 2. They gave me great recommendations as well and, I will always be coming back here- no matter where I live in CO. 10/10. Thank every one of you

I'm not sure if you're affiliated with the Planned Pethood here in Florida at Zephyrhills but those people out here are wonderful and my wife just loves this Dr Jeff cat anyways I'm watching a show now I wish every veterinarian doctor was just as compassion as you guys my little Chihuahua dog Rosie was sick took it to the doctor and they said she had kidney failure I went to Planned Parenthood and Zephyrhills and they said she was just having a kidney infection gave her antibiotics for 2 days IV I think all together was $350 she's driving and it's been 4 weeks I believe the other vet charged me $650 and did one blood test the Planned Parenthood I took them to in Zephyrhills saved her life so keep up the good work guys

I’m writing this so other pet owners know what to expect and can advocate for their animals. My dog had a large mass removal here (about a 7-inch incision). The biggest issue was the lack of proper discharge instructions, which created unnecessary stress and risk during an already vulnerable time. We were sent home without clear guidance on: * what level of bleeding is normal * what to expect in the first 24–72 hours * when to start medications * whether anything had already been given post-op The only medication instructions were “every 8–12 hours” on the bottles, with no explanation of when that timing actually starts. We had no idea if we were supposed to dose from pickup time or account for anything given after surgery. That put us in a position where we were essentially guessing—risking either under-treating his pain or potentially overmedicating him. We ended up calling another veterinary hospital for guidance, and were specifically warned not to give one of the medications (Vetprofen) without proper timing due to possible liver/kidney risks. That is critical information that should have been clearly communicated before we left. There were also multiple issues that added to the concern: * Medication labels were altered by hand in pen instead of being reissued clearly * My dog’s name was entered incorrectly despite being provided multiple times * The discharge process felt rushed and disorganized Pickup was supposed to be between 5:00–6:00 PM, but my partner didn’t receive our dog until close to 6:30 PM (their closing time). At that point, it was clear people were being moved out quickly. One staff member seemed knowledgeable, but she was overwhelmed, and others couldn’t answer questions. We left without the information we actually needed. If you are bringing your pet here for surgery: Ask detailed post-op questions and do not let yourself feel rushed out the door. The timing of their closing is not your responsibility—your pet’s care is. I do understand this is a nonprofit and we saved thousands of dollars, and I’m grateful for that. But if I’m being honest, I wish I had the ability to go somewhere with more structured discharge care. This experience created unnecessary fear, confusion, and stress for both us and our dog—especially after a major procedure. I’m sharing this so others can be better prepared and advocate for their pets in ways we didn’t realize we needed to. I think the idea behind this place is beautiful to offer services and care that are more affordable, but I don’t think sacrificing basic needs should be the reason it’s less expensive. Lastly, it’s not advertised but expect to pay in full on pick up or you will not be allowed to get your pet back.
