We’ve been taking our pets here for years now every single time that we’ve had to board them. It’s been a great experience for our pulse. The menu of additional services they offered as everything that you need. They’re available by text and phone calls. What seems to be 24 hours response time is immediate and I have no issues wondering how my pets are doing while I’m out of town. The staff is very courteous and generous and answers. Any questions that we may have this would be the only place we ever took our pets too while we’re in the area.

This place was so great. My 1 girl dog is very skiddish and hard to leave with others and she had NO problem coming here and acting like she knew them for years. Made me look crazy when I warning them about her 😂 🤷♀️ of take this great behavior any day. You guys were amazing with Mamba and Arie. Coming back soon. Xoxo thank you guys for making the out of state basketball tournaments a breeze not having to worry about them 🤗 even checked in with me to put me at ease.

We are very pleased with our experience boarding our dog at The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding. From the friendly greeting when entering the office and pleasant interaction with staff regarding our dog’s feeding and bedding routine to picking him up with a clean bed was superb! We have found our new boarding “home away from home” for our dog 🐶❤️

I had such a great experience with The Grateful Dog! I boarded my dogs, Aspen and Gibbs, there over the weekend, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The whole staff was so kind and welcoming, and they made everything really easy. I especially loved being able to reach them by phone, text, or email. With how busy I am, having that flexibility was incredibly convenient.
Both of my dogs seemed to absolutely love it there. They followed the caretakers around so easily, which made me feel really good about leaving them. One of my dogs had an old slipped disc injury, and the staff were so caring and did everything they could to make sure she was comfortable. Even with her old injury, she still had a great time and clearly enjoyed herself.
They also got exit baths, and they came home looking ridiculously adorable. When we got home, both of them immediately passed out, so I’d say they definitely had a fun weekend!
I’m so happy my dog walker recommend The Grateful Dog. It’s obvious that the staff genuinely care about the animals they’re looking after, and that means so much to me. I’ll definitely be bringing Aspen and Gibbs back!

I am so beyond grateful (no pun intended) for this place and the incredible employees that run it. I had to board my boys for 3 months straight, which I was so worried to do bc I had to be out of state. This place superseded my expectations. It is so obvious they truly care about every dog and cater to their needs daily. They get to know your dog’s likes and dislikes and cater to that to make your pup have an easier, more enjoyable stay. They send “pupdates” where you get notifications of how your pup is doing to include how much they are eating and daily photos. My boys enjoyed daycare and walks around the grounds to stay busy. I couldn’t say enough about this place and these people, my boys will definitely be back and I will be referring everyone I know to board their dogs here. From the bottom of my heart, thank you 🩷
Frequently Asked Questions About The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding
What's the difference between small-group and regular dog daycare?
Small-group daycare limits the number of dogs together at one time, preventing overstimulation and allowing for safer, more natural socialization. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we use this approach to give every dog attentive supervision and mental engagement without the stress of crowded play areas.
How does enrichment-based boarding keep dogs from getting bored?
Enrichment-based boarding uses natural-behavior activities like problem-solving, exploring, and calm engagement to keep dogs mentally stimulated. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we tailor enrichment sessions to each dog's energy level, preventing both boredom and overstimulation during their stay.
When should you schedule long-term boarding in advance?
Long-term boarding should be booked as early as possible, especially if your pet needs a private suite or individualized care plan. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding in Brighton, we have limited long-term suite availability and encourage advance scheduling for extended trips.
What makes a boarding facility good for anxious or shy cats?
A quiet, separate area with multi-level condos and minimal noise helps anxious cats feel secure. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, our Brighton location offers a calm environment with enrichment designed for feline behavior, reducing stress for shy or sensitive cats.
Can small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs be boarded safely?
Yes, with species-appropriate habitats, gentle handling, and staff trained in small-animal behavior. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we provide safe, low-stress environments for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and sugar gliders, keeping them away from high-traffic dog areas.
How do private indoor and outdoor suites benefit dogs during boarding?
Private suites give each dog their own secure space for rest, decompression, and outdoor access, reducing stress and territorial behavior. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, our suites support healthy daily rhythms and allow pets to move naturally throughout their stay.
What add-ons help high-energy dogs stay calm during boarding?
Walks, enrichment sessions, and structured playtimes provide physical and mental outlets that prevent restlessness. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we tailor add-ons to each dog's energy level, helping them stay engaged and relaxed throughout their visit.
Why is 6 acres of open space important for dog boarding?
Open space allows for natural movement, sensory engagement, and fresh air, which reduce stress and support healthy behaviors. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding in Brighton, our 6-acre property provides a calm, spacious alternative to crowded urban facilities.
How does day training during daycare help with behavior?
Day training groups reinforce good manners and healthy behaviors through structured routines and positive interactions. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we blend mental stimulation with supervised socialization, helping dogs learn and practice calm, appropriate behavior during their daycare visits.
What's the biggest mistake people make when choosing pet boarding?
Many owners choose high-volume facilities without considering their pet's temperament or stress level. At The Grateful Dog Pet Boarding, we recommend scheduling a tour or checking with our staff for boarding options and availability to meet your pets needs.
How do I reserve a spot for my dog's boarding or daycare stay at The Grateful Dog in Brighton?
Reserving a spot is simple — use the online booking link on our website or reach out to us directly through the contact page. We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks ahead for peak periods like holidays and summer so our team can confirm availability, walk you through check-in requirements, and help you add any extra services.
Is The Grateful Dog in Brighton a trusted place to leave my dog while I'm away?
The Grateful Dog is a full-service pet boarding and daycare facility in Brighton, CO, designed to give dogs attentive, enrichment-based care while their owners are away. With private indoor and outdoor suites, open acreage for exercise, and trained staff on-site, dogs receive consistent, individualized attention throughout their stay.
What should I have ready before dropping my dog off for boarding or daycare?
Before check-in, you'll need to provide up-to-date vaccination records for your dog. It also helps to note any dietary needs, behavioral preferences, or add-on services you'd like during the stay so the team can prepare in advance.
