- DSDeitra SailesJun 1, 20262.0I came in for the free microchip, went home with 3 vaccines & no microchip. Since it was my first time microchipping a dog; I was unaware of the process. However, as I skimmed through the reading materials, on the way home, I noticed there was no literature pertaining to the microchip & called the clinic. While they were accommodating & stated they’d enter a note in my profile, I now have to make another to a clinic to get what I initially came for. Im giving them 2 stars because the staff was pleasant, otherwise I’d only give 1.

Prices are also very reasonable. Even though there are other places close to home, I don’t mind the drive to this location since I know we will be taken care of. Knowing my pets are in good hands is invaluable.
- NUNoah UngerMar 16, 20261.0We discovered that our dog's vaccination for rabies had expired a year from the date it was administered. Our groomer could not see her until she was up to date. I noticed on the vaccine record that the rabies vaccine was suppose to be good for 3-years. I was confused about the 1- year expiration so I contacted ARF in Walnut Creek to find out why the vaccine was only good for 1-year. ARF advised me that the vaccine was actually suppose to be good for 3-years as long as our dog received a rabies vaccine as a puppy a year prior to that, which she had. I contacted the Vetco 800- number and they advised me to visit this store on Saturday to address the issue. ARF advised us to take the prior vaccine record to the store and request an adjustment. I visited the store on 3/14/26 and spoke to one of the vet tech's there, she provided me with conflicting and unintelligible information. Another vet tech clarified that in fact the rabies shot that my dog received should have been marked for 3- years as opposed to the 1-year. So I turned around and told the vet tech "See, you're wrong." Boy did that set the other vet tech in a frenzy, she turned to me and said "Don't talk to her like that." Look, I wasn't there to make friends, I want the record corrected and I was advised by Vetco to address the issue at the store, which I did. I do not appreciate being ping ponged between corporate and the store to amend the record, the very record that they failed the first time. I certainly did not appreciate dealing with associates that are unclear about their own vaccines, this was the most alarming part. Anyway, the store manager got involved and she advocated for me. Vetco's vet that day (red headed female) was just as equally useless. I get not wanting to correct a flawed record that another vet created. Where is the resolution aside from dealing with teens that are unfamiliar with their own practices and a vet that could have diffused the dispute but instead replied by saying "We are contractors and do not represent Vetco." Great, thats good to know that if anyone who brings their pets to Vetco for any reason they can be assured that they can not hold the vet accountable for their mistakes and quite honestly, there is no one other than some Connie lady in Florida that they will shove you over to for a maybe, possibly, very unlikely resolution. The vet confirmed the 3- year duration of the vaccine, advised that it was "unnecessary" to administer another round of the vaccine. Had it not of been for the store manager, and her professionalism it would have been my last time shopping at Petco. Did I expect the vet to amend the record, no, did I expect a professional conversation and a path to good faith resolution, absolutely!
