  Dr. Edison called well after hours to check on Gil. That was a very considerate thing to do. Anacapa/Banfield is a smaller veterinarian office, but the service is much more personal.

  First time at banfield and I am beyond disappointed. I visited this hospital to have my dogs mouth checked out as I was concerned of an infection. They barely checked him out when the vet quickly determined a fractured tooth and quickly started talking about surgery and gave us a $1550 quote for the surgery and X-rays and things like that. We didn’t know any better and just wanted to be able to help our dog they told us to sign up for the wellness plan but explained the details of it horribly so there were things we were not aware of and ended up paying for this wellness plan, they then tried to hurry us in making an appointment for the surgery. After I checked his mouth myself to see if I saw the fracture they spoke about I didn’t see anything so I wanted a second opinion and took him to another vet to find out he had no issues with his teeth just a cut on his lip that got slightly infected. When I tried to talk to the hospital I visited about it they didn’t say anything to me other then gave me a different number I was sent back and forth between 2 numbers and was told I could not cancel my plan unless I paid another $84 which I should not be having to pay because this is all a fault of banfields. They did not explain to me that when I paid for the plan that the free first exam was no longer applicable which is why they want me to pay $84 to cancel the plan I do not need because they falsely diagnosed my dog with something he did not have and wanted me to spend a bunch of money on surgery to remove said fractured tooth which did not exist because he did not have a fractured tooth. I don’t recommend them but maybe I’m just unlucky and am the only one who has to experience this but I will not be coming back to banfield

  I am giving 5 stars solely for Dr. Edison! She is the most caring vet I have experienced in a long time!! I know that I am not the easiest patient because I prefer holistic approaches for my 18 year old dog. Dr. Edison suggested Oculenis for my dog's eyes and it is a total game changer. I've taken him to overpriced eye "specialists" who only made my dog's eyes worse, and with the Oculenis, his eyes are not only healing, but he is walking straight again (after circling due to the corneal ulcers). I am simply in tears of gratitude for Dr. Edison and her support, and working with me to find a solution for my dog, Flash. Thank you!

  I have been with Banfield for six years and I was located in California and the service was amazing. Then I recently moved to Clarksville Tennessee and have been to their office one time and it has been the most horrific experience of my life. Dr. Williams is very negligent withheld information poor communication. I actually had to file a lawsuit against them for putting my dogs life at risk

  I had both my cat and dog on wellness plans. They were a lot better with my dog than they were with my cat. They asked me to drug my cat before bringing her in. The reason why vet visits were so stressful for her is because they would lock her in a cage for HOURS surrounded by other animals making a lot of noise. Banfield does not care about your pets, they care about making money. The last time I took my cat here, I dropped her off for an early morning appointment and I spent the entire day anxiously awaiting any word. It wasn't until the evening that I got a call and was able to pick her up. They are so overbooked on appointments. The drop off style of appointment means you hardly get to talk to the actual vet.
