- KCKirsten ClarkeJun 27, 20261.0I had both my cat and dog on wellness plans. They were a lot better with my dog than they were with my cat. They asked me to drug my cat before bringing her in. The reason why vet visits were so stressful for her is because they would lock her in a cage for HOURS surrounded by other animals making a lot of noise. Banfield does not care about your pets, they care about making money. The last time I took my cat here, I dropped her off for an early morning appointment and I spent the entire day anxiously awaiting any word. It wasn't until the evening that I got a call and was able to pick her up. They are so overbooked on appointments. The drop off style of appointment means you hardly get to talk to the actual vet.

We recently had my doggy neutered and we received follow up calls to make sure our doggy was doing well and they even accommodated us with a last minute same-day med-refill for our baby's recovery. The ladies at the front are also always very kind and helpful :)

He was supposed to get his last DAPP vaccine next week but the appointment was scheduled one week early and no one told me it was wrong until after they gave him his 4th DAPP vaccine. I was then told at check out that he needs to come back in 3 weeks to get his last DAPP, his 5th! I am so disappointed at the fact that no one told me this was a wrong scheduled time until after the vaccine was given. They could have told me when they asked me to confirm my appointment, when I arrived, or before they gave the vaccine.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
