Banfield Pet Hospital® - Tustin Market Place provides quality and attentive health and wellness care for dog, cat and small animal pet patients. Our veterinarians and staff are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and preventive health care with a full-service medical facility offering general services like routine vaccinations, microchipping, dental and surgical care and more. We are accepting new patients now.
As my dog required more medical care, the less consistent and reliable this hospital and staff have become. It’s always a shot in the dark who you get when you call in for a prescription refill. Sometimes they actually follow through and call you back when they say they will. The other half of the time you’re calling to follow up but then get scolded that it won’t happen as quickly even though previous instances it did. I could understand if you want to manage expectations but what actually gets communicated to us is so inconsistent every time, I have no clue who and what information is actually correct. The doctors also switch up so often. The only doctor that was truly kind and showed compassion towards us was Dr. Sahota. However, for whatever reason, I find that every time I call, he’s never in the office. At this point I dread calling the office for anything. I have been going to Banfield for over a decade and have been an OWP plan member throughout that time but we will not be renewing. The number of bad experiences/encounters with the front office staff have surpassed the good. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

I have had many good experiences here. The staff and doctors are compassionate. I don’t feel like they push unneeded services on me.

The Wellness Plan feels very misleading, so be careful before enrolling. We were told it was a month-to-month plan, but it turned out to be a one-year contract.
We were also told that we could upgrade to the Plus plan anytime when our puppy was ready for neutering. However, when we later tried to upgrade, we were told we first had to pay around $500. When we asked why, nobody could explain it—they just said the system was asking for it and there was nothing they could do.
The young lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful, but the manager was extremely rude. She asked how old our puppy was, and we said 6 months. She immediately claimed that plan upgrades could only be done within 5 months. We pointed out that our puppy still had 3 days before turning 6 months old, and the plan handout clearly states “under 6 months.” She then changed her story and insisted it had to be under 5 months.
At that point, her attitude had become so rude and dismissive that we no longer wanted to continue the conversation. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience due to misleading information and poor customer service.

My sweet girl Duchess suffered from a lot of health issues in her old age and she needed very frequent visits to the vet. I shopped around for the best priced vet I could find, but I found so much more at Banfield. The service team cared dearly for her, gave me many options when it came to her care, and I never felt pressured to do anything that didn’t feel right. It came to a point where Duchess’ heart enlarged and made it difficult for her to be active and she had some body pain. They helped me get her treatment that eased her discomfort and make her happy for the last month of her life. We unfortunately lost her in January, but the team didn’t forget her and sent us condolences through the mail. I recommend everyone I know who has a pet to go her. I have just had a great experience here overall and want to note the vet techs were all amazing as well.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
