I would not recommend Banfield based on my experience with my cat. I took him in because he had ongoing diarrhea, and after they ran some tests, we were told he was severely anemic, needed a blood transfusion, and that there was nothing more they could do for him there. We were advised to immediately transfer him to an emergency vet, which caused an incredible amount of panic, stress, and ultimately thousands of dollars in emergency veterinary bills. Once we arrived at the emergency hospital, their team repeated the testing and discovered that the results from Banfield were inaccurate — he was not critically anemic and did not need a blood transfusion at all. At the same time, Banfield had also failed to identify the intestinal blockage he actually had, which was not discovered until weeks later (by a local veterinarian) and required emergency surgery. Because of this missed diagnosis, his treatment was delayed in a way that could have become life-threatening. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability afterward. Despite the inaccurate testing, unnecessary emergency transfer, emotional distress, and financial burden their mistakes caused, Banfield refused to provide any refund or take responsibility for what happened. The overall care felt extremely rushed, impersonal, and careless. It seemed like the priority was pushing clients through quickly rather than thoroughly evaluating pets or genuinely caring about the animals and owners they were treating. I left every interaction feeling dismissed and unsupported during an already terrifying situation. If cost is a concern, there are local veterinarians that charge the same or even less while providing significantly better care. Many allow you to stay in the exam room with your pet, take time to properly examine them, and thoroughly explain findings and treatment options instead of making you feel rushed through the process. I strongly recommend seeking veterinary care elsewhere.
