Worst experience ever. The dr not only lacked professionalism but compassion as well. Putting an animal down is hard enough. My pet wasn’t well. They took him in the back to “observe” him and another pet came in also unwell. That pet took priority over mine and I was told mine was stable. When my pet was given back to me to hold during this very sad time he was struggling to breath, his tongue was hanging out of his mouth and he peed all over me. This was before any meds were given. When I expressed to the dr he was not stable for the hour they had him in a cage back there and you could clearly see he was in pain. She was snarky and rude with her response, telling me she was the one with the medical degree. Meanwhile my pet was dying in my arms and suffering while she continued to be rude.

I rarely if ever leave negative reviews, unfortunately my experience at this vet center yesterday was absolutely awful. I understand that this is an emergency center and wait times are long depending on the animals injured already in Queue (we waited 5 hours). What I don’t appreciate is the sales tactics that are in practice here. We have four animals and have never had this issue with any other vet offices. I truly felt that I was negotiating the treatment of my pet. To say that the vet that saw my pet possessed ZERO empathy is an understatement. It only added to the distaste of the $2500 assessments on top of the $175 office visit (not including possible treatment or overnight stay). I was horrified. Luckily, a staff member (kudos to them) saw our disgust and suggested another vet nearby, made an appointment today and the bill was 1/4 of what Thousand Oaks Emergency Center was asking. Extremely unethical in their pricing and even so in the manner they prey on distressed pet owners. Would never recommend this center to absolutely anyone.

I have been going to this clinic on and off for years, but today will be my last visit. My dog had been vomiting with diarrhea ALL night and into the morning. When I arrived I signed in and was told that somebody would be with me within 15 minutes. I waited and waited ---I told him I would wait in my car with my dog. Finally after waiting an hour, I walked back into the facility and asked the lady there what is taking so long that it was supposed to be a 15 minute wait She immediately said that the guy should never have told me it would be 15 minutes she said we don't even have a doctor on staff right now that the doctor had not shown up and was over 40 minutes late for the dayshift. She advised me to go to Western Veterinary hospital in Agoura So I left. I went to Western veterinary and they told me it would be at least a four hour wait. I was worried my dog was going to end up collapsing from dehydration so I left western and called VSEC again to see if perhaps the day shift doctor had shown up. When I called the same girl who told me to go to Western told me that they just came to the parking lot to look for me said they were ready to take me in, but she said I left. I told her I left because you told me there was no doctor on staff that he or she was running late. Then she tells me that the Night Shift doctor decided to see my dog. I asked her why she made me wait an hour with my sick dog if the Night Shift Dr was there all along. She started arguing with me and told me that the Night Shift doctor will not take on patients when the dayshift doctor is supposed to be there. This did not make any sense since the Night Shift doctor was still there and ready to see me. If she knew the night doctor was still there why did she send me to Western veterinary????? This place Has gone downhill. Then the same lady tells me that my dog is fine as long as she's alert. They never even looked at my dog and they're telling me that she's fine over the phone. Very disturbing
