  Five stars to the Montecito Veterinary Center for their care of my cat Jagger. Every one of the staff (Dr. Silver, Fran, and Bailey) who participated in the special care of my boy were professional and courteous. Jagger had some serious reactions while being treated and he was given top shelf treatment. Dr. Silver made me feel at ease and gave detailed information regarding specialist options for us to pursue. I do hold them in high regards and will return there for future service. Sincerely, Kelly and Jagger. ☘️

  Went there and the vet could not determine that my dog's skin problem was a skin cyst (went to another vet). Dr. Bove just wanted to do surgery, said would email an estimate & never heard back. Too bad original owner Dr. Patrick retired & now probably owned by wall street equity firms to inflate cost .

  Wanted to charge $700 to remove fox tale and wanted him left all day for sedation. I said no & they charged $98 for the visit anyway. Took him to a different vet, they had the f.t. out in 20 minutes, no sedation, charged $182.

  DO NOT GO HERE!! I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE! I took my Shih Tzu to see Dr. Lea Bove because I specifically asked for her to be checked for both a possible bladder infection and leg problems. During the exam, Dr. Bove repeatedly called my dog a "bad girl" because she wasn't allowing her legs to be manipulated. My dog was diagnosed with hip problems, and we were sent home with pain medication. Just two days later, on July 4th, I woke up to my dog vomiting and urinating blood throughout my home. I rushed her to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Santa Rosa, where she was diagnosed with a severe bladder infection and bladder stones. She is now scheduled for surgery tomorrow. This is a very serious condition, and I'm devastated that the issue I specifically asked to have evaluated was not identified during our visit. I trusted that her symptoms would be thoroughly investigated, and instead her condition worsened to the point of becoming an emergency. I'm sharing my experience so other pet owners can make informed decisions. If your pet seems like something isn't right, trust your instincts and don't hesitate to seek a second opinion.
