  A pet’s well being should take precedent over their bitter feelings. Avoid unless this is your only option! I won’t go over all of them but most recently: After attempting to schedule an appointment for my elderly dog to be seen and diagnosed today, I was told that my account had been closed back in 2023 because my spouse voiced frustration with them for not disclosing a UTI. Full story: When we transferred our dogs records over to a better vet, the better vet disclosed that the last exam revealed UTI. San Roque failed to disclose this to us at all. My wife called to express frustration, no cussing, no misbehavior, just general frustration. Well here we are today, 2 years later, and we found out the hard way that thin skinned San Roque Pet Hospital staff cannot seem to handle some justified frustration. You guys didn’t disclose a medical condition that could have harmed my dog, you clearly had test results for, and yet we are the bad guys!? Typical service these days. My dogs health should be given priority over any frustration that results from your lack of accountability and professionalism. This place has high vet, technician and staff turnaround for a reason. Customer beware. And don’t even get me started on their unnecessary upsells!

  Clinic is clean and I think they probably provide adequate care to some dogs in the community. However, my experience was really lacking. I needed updated labs for my 10 year old dog. Paid $300 to get them. Results come in, and I miss a few of their phone calls due to work and kids. I ask they email the labs, they refuse multiple times saying its against the law, which isn't true, it's actually just the opposite. The California Veterinary Practice Act requires vets to provide results. When they finally gave me a paper copy of my dog's labs, they didn't match up with the labs the vet walked me through at the office. Really frustrating experience.

  Writing this as a warning in case it happens to you. San Roque Pet Hospital sent me an email stating my dogs were due for vaccinations, despite the fact I had not been a client of their veterinary group for several years, I cancelled (when I was with Montecito pet hospital) and had the dogs medical records sent to my new vet years ago. Both San Roque Pet Hospital and my current vet La Cumbre Animal Hospital have ‘hospital’ in the name, and I mistakenly believed the email was from my current vet. I booked an appointment and arrived at La Cumbre with my dogs only to be told I had no appointment there — and that the vaccines weren’t even due. San Roque then called demanding $110 for a missed appointment I didn’t knowingly make. When I disputed this, their manager threatened collections proceedings.

  Was able to quickly get an appointment for our dog. He injured his paw and was constantly licking so it was made worse. The staff and Dr. Peck were friendly and knowledgeable. We just moved to the area so happy to find a new vet practice for our dogs and cat.
