  Went out of my way to come here only to find a “closed until further notice” sign on the door and a locked up store.

  I used to love the convince of buying my dogs food here, they have affordable brands but then I found out they sell live animals like birds, turtles and guinea pigs, beta fish and more, most of which come from horrible conditions like breeding mills. Only to end up in rescues when people no longer know how to care for them or lose interest, or they get sick. I can no longer support petco if they continue to sell live animals. The poor animals in the store look so sad and starved for enrichment. I hope they make it out alive 🥺

  I’m writing this on my mom’s behalf. She had an interaction with one of the employees. She refused to sell fish because she assumed my mom was killing them. My mom has a language barrier but the employee she was very rude and doesn’t know how to have a good customer service attitude and I also work in customer service and would never treat people like that. My needed them for my aquatic turtle and understands you ask questions but my mom didn’t understand that and the worker got defensive when my mom was explaining why she needed them. This store really needs to work on their customer service Iv been coming to this petco for years. Iv had my turtle for 15 years and always get feeder fish for him the one time my mom goes they refuse.
